No School and Parent Teacher Conferences

We do not have school October 9th, 10th, and 11th. We do have Parent Teacher Conferences Tuesday, October 8th from 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm and Wednesday, October 9th from 12:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Please email or call your teacher if you do not know your conference time or you need a new time.

Book Character Pumpkin Showcase

Parents and Guardians,


Our inaugural Book Character Pumpkin Showcase is just around the corner! Entries will be accepted starting in October. Please bring them to the media center. We will send pumpkins home at the end of the month.


Decorate a pumpkin(s) or gourd(s) as your favorite book character(s).

Pumpkins may be painted, dressed, or accessorized, but not carved. Please note that pumpkins that have holes in them tend to go bad quickly, so painting and accessorizing works best for school.

All entries will be winners and receive a book of their choice to keep!

The Teacher Appreciation Committee is celebrating our wonderful teachers with a cozy, fall-themed conference meal! Whether it’s a cheese tray, a fresh salad, or a sweet treat, your contributions will help us show our gratitude to the amazing educators who inspire our kids every day. One Run 2024

Thank you for everyone who joined the OneRun! The weather was perfect, and participants were wonderful! We will find out later how much money Hanawalt will receive at a later date.

Come join us for a fun evening of meeting other Hanawalt caregivers and learning about activities that happen throughout the year and how you can get involved (at whatever level you're comfortable with!). Whether you've had students at Hanawalt for years or are a newcomer looking to get involved, this event is for you!

We'll cover the general schedule of Hanawalt Community activities and involvement and tell everyone a little about each existing committee. Enjoy appetizers courtesy of the Hanawalt Community and a cash bar.
