A Note from Dr. Whipple
May 27, 2024
Hope everyone has been having a good Memorial Day Weekend. We thank all those that served and paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to the country. It is these brave men and women that allow us to continue to enjoy our freedoms and security. We can't say thank you enough.
Shout out to Ms. Meuwissen, Mrs. Farquhar-Nelson and Student Congress for organizing the Bald for Bucks event this past Friday. It was a lot of fun and great to see the kids get so into it, all for a good cause! We raised over $700 for the Roswell Cancer Institute! Also, thank you to Mr. Barresi, Mr. Butt and Mr. Potter for being great sports and being willing to go bald. They all can pull the look off well!

Senior Events
We have lots of fun activities coming up to celebrate our seniors! See below for an outline of the dates and times for them.
Please also be advised that students that participate in "Senior skip days" or Senior pranks that are destructive or disruptive may result in not being able to attend these events. We want to keep the focus on having fun as a class and being safe!
The permission slip for the Darien Lake field trip on 6/26 is also attached below. We will be leaving the high school right after graduation rehearsal at 11:30am and returning approximately at 9:15pm. The cost of the park ticket, food voucher and snack voucher are covered. A bus will be provided for transportation. However, if you would like to drive or carpool to Darien Lake instead of riding the bus, the second sheet MUST be completed by each parent/guardian. Due by 5/31
Haunted Hayride - Gananda Rotary - Needs Volunteers!
Gananda Rotary is in jeopardy of losing their main leadership team for the Haunted Hayride. They are looking at other adults who might step up to keep the event going. It is very important for two reasons that they continue:
1 - It is their major fundraiser for scholarship, awards, and Rotary projects throughout the community
2 - It is their MAIN contact with the high school students, for their community service hours and for their scholarship awards.
They are working on some solutions, and hopefully some new leaders to replace their regulars.. … they would also ask if you know of anyone at the school who might be interested in joining the team for the Haunted Hayride. It is a commitment of time of about four hours during the week up until the event and about 6 hours on each of the weekends of the actually Hayride (Fridays and Saturdays in October).

Congrats to Mason, Noah, Andrew, Ryan, Maria, Eva, Mackenzie, Bella, Addie, Colleen, Ashley, and Meah (not pictured) for earning an overall GPA of 95% or above through their entire HS career!
Congrats to our PLTW Award Winners this week. An impressive group of individuals! Thank you Mrs. Peterson, Mrs. Delisio and Mrs. Swartout for organizing this event!
The PROUD team finished their tree mural in the Atrium. The leaves represent different commitments that students made during March's PROUD activity day to make the school a better place. Thank you Ms. Mottler and Mrs. Zebulske and the rest of the PROUD team for working on this!
Check out the pics below of our the high schoolers sending off our elementary school Special Olympics competitors in style!
Congrats to Student Congress for achieving their fundraising goal and raising over $700 for the Roswell Park's Cancer Clinic in their Bald for Bucks event on Friday. Mr. Butt, Mr. Potter and Mr. Barresi (from his Coast Guard post) were revealed to be the volunteers that agreed to go bald for bucks if the fundraising goal was met. The students also took a clean sweep in the staff vs student competitions. Dominating the tug of war, basketball shooting contest and jelly bean in the pie contest. Thank you to Ms. Meuwissen and Mrs. Farquhar-Nelson and Student Congress for organizing this event!
Congrats to Katie, Meah, Maggie, and Haley for winning the Sectional Championship in the 4x400 Relay with a time of 4:14.37. Congrats to Meah for also taking the Sectional crown in the Girls 1500 with a time of 4:58.26. Awesome job girls!
Great effort by the Girls Flag Football team in a heartbreaking loss to Bishop Kearney in the Sectional Championship game. Despite the loss, the team has a lot to be proud of with making it this far in their very first season of competition! The team also earned the Class B2 Sportsmanship Team of the Year award.
Thank you to Natalie, Sydney, Coven and Katie for helping to run the Blood Drive this past week and for Mr. Broussard for organizing again!

Transcript Requests - Important Info!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Seniors will send their official FLCC transcripts to the institution they attend in the Fall. Please wait until after July 4th to order transcripts. This ensures spring grades are verified. Official transcript requests are placed online. There is a $5 per address fee that is payable online via credit or debit card. This system will send a notification when the transcript is processed and received, and includes online tracking. Refer students to this link for instructions.
Most Gemini students will not know their MyFLCC login or password, so they can select Option 2 and set up an account directly through the Parchment Exchange website. Students should check the box “Send when grades are posted” to ensure all spring grades are reflected on the transcript.
Students will also need to send a transcrupt from College Board for AP courses. Please visit https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/sending-scores to request an official transcript be sent to the college you are attending prior to Freshman Orientation.
