Major's Minute
Last weekend, we were blessed to attend and support Janae at the George Na'ope Hula Festival in Sacramento. All of her and group's work paid off - they did a beautiful and inspiring job! Thank you to this church who helped lead worship service so we could take vacation on the weekend to attend.
Little did we know that we would have such an interesting week when we came back.
Campers didn't show up for camp. (Ended up sending two extra kids.)
Camper who wasn't registered showed up for camp. (We were able to register him last minute.)
Celestine and I both got sick. (We're better.)
The church bathrooms got clogged again. (Got a plunger that worked.)
Our air conditioning at home wasn't working. (Praise God it is now.)
I burnt my leg and thighs with a cup a noodle. (The pain of the heat didn't last all day.)
Our two puppies got out of our backyard after the landscapers left. (The puppies came running back).
All of these were some bumps in our week varying from "a little inconvenient" to "that's not good at all". They all just happened to have been resolved quickly. Don't we wish all things could recover this quickly? But, things just don't work out as smooth as we desire sometimes. Often times the bumps in our week or in our lives vary so thinly between "I'm feeling discouraged and alone" to "I don't think I'm going to make it through".
Let God encourage us through his Word, Zephaniah 3:17:
For the Lord your God is living among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With his love, he will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Answers we are praying for may not come in the time we want, or even the answer we want, but God will always do what is right for His name sake. Align ourselves to His Word, and we will be in line with His will. We can cling to our God who is our Savior.
**Majors Ruwethin will be going on their last vacation of the summer from this Tuesday, June 30 - Monday, August 12. We will be doing our best to pay attention to our kids and try not to actively work on projects or email while we're gone. However, if you have an emergency, please continue to reach out. Other than that, imagine us on a little island with no cell phone or wi-fi service where we can't be found. :) There will be no Santa Clara Clarion during these weeks as well.
**Sunday School for all ages as well as Junior Church and Nursery will be on break until the school year resumes. Details to come. We thank all of our teachers and pray that they will get a welcome rest to gear up for next year. Please review the weekly schedule review the fall schedule when we resume on August 25.**
Blessings of this past week....

This is our time to celebrate being back from summer traveling and getting back to the rhythm of meeting together at church.
