Dear God, help me navigate whatever challenges I encounter this day. Be my comfort and my rock. Guide me to do Your will and be an instrument of your peace today and each day.

Principal's Message
Welcome to Week 6!
We are well and truly underway in our year, and the intellectual challenges and enjoyment of learning around the school are evident.
I recently attending the Catholic Primary Principal's Member's Day based on the themes: 'Mission and Prayer'. It was refreshing to step out of school for a day and be reminded as to why we live, work, and breathe in Catholic Schools. There is something special about the ethos and Gospel values of Catholic Schools that make it a unique community to be a part of. I hope you sense it too.
Enrolments for Kindy 2025 and Expressions of interest for Pre-Kindy 2025 are now open. Interviews will be commencing in Term 2. These learning programs are incredibly popular so please visit our website or office to complete an application form. Please share with any of your family and friends who are interested in joining our amazing community.
John Moth from Complete 360 Projects visited today to explore options around the top basketball courts and safe entry into the school. We hope to have a plan and work in place as soon as possible. In the meantime, please take care around this space.
Next week students in Year 3 and 5 will begin their NAPLAN testing. The timetable is as follows:
Wednesday 13 March - Writing Assessment
Friday 15 March - Reading Assessment
Monday 18 March - Language Conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
Tuesday 19 March - Numeracy Assessment
Please ensure your child is at school on these days. Each test will begin around 9am in the students' classrooms using their iPads bar the Year 3 Writing test, which is completed with pencil and paper. Each test is between 40 and 50 minutes long plus preparation time. Punctuality is essential. If your child is absent, they can sit the test another day, but the schedule is limited. We wish our students all the best and only ask that they give it their best effort!
Good luck to our Year 6 Cricketers at tomorrow's Cricket Carnival. Hopefully we see some Marnus Labuschagne and Alyssa Healy action at the crease.
Finally, this Sunday at Mass, our staff will be commissioned for the year where Fr John will pray special blessing on our staff. As a new member to staff, Miss Madelyn Scott will also receive a prayer scroll signifying the beginning of her career in Catholic Education.
I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather, have a great weekend.
God Bless
Mark Tenney
Principal

Project Compassion
Project Compassion is the Lenten endeavour of Caritas that aims to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity. Project Compassion provides us with an opportunity to do just that. By putting our faith and compassion in action today, we have the power to create lasting change. Hence the theme for Project Compassion in 2024 is For All Future Generations.
On the day before Lent began our school raised over $200 to start the ball rolling. Hopefully, with contributions to the Project Compassion boxes at school and in your home, we can reach an even higher amount. We will be helping others less fortunate than us in the following ways.
- Provide a family with a safe toilet to help eliminate cholera during rainy months and cyclone season in Malawi.
- Provide support to households in need of house repairs and toilet construction in the Philippines.
- Provide a handwashing sink to a household in Samoa so that cleanliness and hygiene is accessible to a family.
- Provide skills training to 15 people for income generating activities as well as start-up business support in the Philippines.
Please return your Project Compassion boxes by Wednesday 20 March 2024 so that we can put together our generous donations for all future generations in those countries that most need our help.
"Together, we can make a difference now, and For All Future Generations."
