Please Donate to the Barrington High School Dance Marathon Service Club
Barrington High School Dance Marathon is a service club at BHS focused on raising awareness and funds for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital: Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Last year, BHSDM raised over $64,000 for patients and families at Lurie Children’s, and they are continuing to grow each year as the second-largest Dance Marathon program in Illinois. Since its founding, Dance Marathon has helped passionate BHS students unite as a community in the fight to end pediatric illness. This year, if BHSDM reaches their goal of $65,000, they will donate a NICU Nurse Charge Station to the hospital. This is an incredible opportunity for Barrington to have its name on a space at a hospital that treats over 239,000 children every year. The Dance Marathon Executive Team asks that you please consider donating to BHSDM. All funds raised are tax deductible and go straight to Lurie Children’s Hospital. Please consider making a donation using this link. Any amount makes a difference to the children at Lurie Children’s Hospital. Donations are due March 17th. If you have any questions about Dance Marathon, please feel free to reach out to barringtondm2@gmail.com.

Women's History Month
Women’s History Month is a dedicated month to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of women to U.S. history. From Abigail Adams to Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth to Rosa Parks, the timeline of women’s history milestones stretches back to the founding of the United States.
The actual celebration of Women’s History Month grew out of a weeklong celebration of women’s contributions to culture, history and society organized by the school district of Sonoma, California, in 1978. Presentations were given at dozens of schools, hundreds of students participated in a “Real Woman” essay contest and a parade was held in downtown Santa Rosa.
A few years later, the idea caught on within communities, school districts and organizations across the country. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first presidential proclamation declaring the week of March 8 as National Women’s History Week. The U.S. Congress followed suit the next year, passing a resolution establishing a national celebration. Six years later, the National Women’s History Project successfully petitioned Congress to expand the event to the entire month of March.

See Something, Say Something
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority and we commit to offering a safe
and secure educational environment. Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns. In the case of an emergency, call 911.BARRINGTON HIGH SCHOOL
