December 16, 2024
Message from the Principal-To-Be.
I'd like to start by saying how blessed and honored I am to serve as the next principal of Bel Air Middle School. This is my 13th year at BAMS. I was here as a math teacher and department chair from 2002-2009. I returned as an assistant principal from 2015-2020. I'm back again in 2024. The third time is a CHARM. The history I have with BAMS, the staff, and the community is deep and meaningful. I couldn't be happier. My goal for the remainder of the year is to continue down the well-paved path that Dr. Wickman has already established. Your children, their safety, and their growth are my top priorities.
I wish you all a safe and joyous winter break with your loved ones. See you all in the new year.
Sincerely,
Laura Silk
Congratulations!!!
Dr. Karl Wickman
After 28 years with Harford County Public Schools it is finally time for me to move along to the next chapter of my life. While I will miss the students here at BAMS I look forward to having additional time to spend with my family.
I will always remember Bel Air Middle School as the place where I stood in front of students as a teacher for the very first time ever in my career. I was a student teacher down in room 59 teaching Social Studies. I was fortunate to spend time at Havre De Grace Middle, Southampton, Patterson Mill and 20 years at North Harford Middle.
I think my very favorite thing about Bel Air Middle has been the time I have been able to spend getting to know students in the cafeteria and on the bus ramp. I will miss our casual conversations and good times. You have a special place here at the home of the Panthers. Please continue to be kind to each other, work hard and keep the tradition of excellence alive in the halls of BAMS.

"I have been at HCPS for 25 years. I spent four years at Dublin Elementary and twenty-one years at Bel Air Middle. When I retire, I plan on traveling, going to the beach, working on my Snoopy Room, and doing crafts and woodwork. I'm just going to take it easy and enjoy life.
I will miss all of my BAMS family."
Thank you for your service.
Mr. Sam Ward, 8th grade science teacher, has been called to serve our country. Friday, December 20th is his last day at BAMS. We appreciate his commitment to students during his time here. Mr. Will Bogen will be his replacement, starting in January.
