The Season That Was
The Fantasy Granddaddy is back with a tough-love look at his last-year predictions. What was he right about? Where was he wrong? Here's a stroll through memory lane for last year's successes and mis-steps, as you start strategizing all over again for 2025.
Did you take Granddaddy's great advice and draft Najee while shunning Chubb? Did you outthink Granddaddy and draft Chubba Hubbard?
Average Draft Position
Why do you care? Because ADP is the order the players are likely to appear on your draft page, and it's the order the software uses to pick a player for you if you miss your turn. You'll want to be extra cautious about setting predraft picks if you're going to be away from your computer for any length of time. It's not fun to wake up and find out you just drafted Travis Kelce in the second round. (Well, hey, who really knows? It might be pure genius.)
One More Day To Take the Survey
DataForce's off-season survey closes tomorrow, March 10! Last chance to provide feedback and ideas.
We'd really love it if you'd take a few minutes and let us know what direction you want to see DataForce Fantasy Football go! The survey discusses possible rule changes, software enhancements, and new league types.
Respond only once, please! Duplicate entries will be discarded.
The "V" Word
Any of you experience an unexpected captcha pop-up on our site last week? It was a rare occurrence, and it seemed pretty amateurish as viruses go (most users were not even able to click on the captcha) but it WAS a virus that hit us. It was a phishing scheme to see if you would provide personal details.
We removed the broken plug-in pretty quickly, upgraded our anti-virus defenses, and completely cleaned the site - every trace of the problem is long gone - but if you are still seeing anything like this, or if your antivirus software seems at all disturbed, you need to clear your browser cache.
DataForce's Referral Program
Anxious for your league to get started drafting? Here's a suggestion: Refer a friend!
DataForce's referral program is in full swing! It takes just a moment to earn $24 in bonus money, split however you like between you and your friend. You just click the REFER A FRIEND button below to send an email to your friend, with whatever message you want, and it's all set up to make the bonus happen. When he or she signs up and deposits money, the bonus money automatically gets applied.
Don't worry: Your friend's email address will not be added to our mailing list! This is a one-time contact! DataForce Fantasy Football is not "that company." 😊
The Newbie Corner: Dynasty Deposits
If you're looking for a place to play Dynasty Fantasy Football, you need to know that not all sites are the same. Perhaps the biggest difference is how your dynasty deposit is handled.
It's common among fantasy providers to ask for a deposit at the time you sign up for a brand new dynasty league. We at DataForce are no exception. If you join a start-up draft for any kind of multi-year league (dynasty, keeper, salary cap, contract or legacy league) you will pay a deposit.
What's different is how we treat your deposit. Unfortunately, for many fantasy providers, your deposit becomes a primary source of revenue for the company. They count on you walking away from the league and leaving behind a deposit, that then goes into their pocket.
Not at DataForce. We do not make money on deposits. Our philosophy is your team is literally your team, and if for any reason you must leave the league, you don't walk away with nothing. Nor do we pocket the deposit.
It works like this: When you leave, your team is sold, either by you on the marketplace, or by us, at auction when the renewal deadline arrives. Either way, you get the proceeds for the sale, and your deposit stays with the team, passed on to the buyer of the team. That deposit adds value to the team, helping keep the league alive, and will eventually go to whoever owns the team when the league eventually disbands.
FSBO. For Sale By Owner. DataForce gets nothing from the sale of an orphan.
In other words, what you get back when you leave the league depends precisely on how well you managed your team to keep it valuable. Team is in great shape? You could get the full deposit back or even more. You let it fall into disrepair? You could get only a few dollars back, or possibly nothing at all, if nobody wants it.
We think this model is a great way to keep dynasty leagues competitive and can't figure out why all fantasy providers aren't doing the same. Maybe they need the extra income. And maybe that's why DataForce has never had to close a multi-year league.
