Harmony School of Excellence will no longer provide VOE's at the front window without a 48-hour notice, effective immediately.

For your student to receive a VOE for their Permit or License purposes, they must meet the following criteria:

Meet minimum attendance for class credit (90 percent rule) in each class they were enrolled in the most recent semester, AND

Received credit for all courses taken in the previous semester, OR

Comply with the conditions established by the school to receive the verification. No exceptions will be made.

Dear Parent or Guardian:

Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. The attached information will help you learn about options for, as well as how to talk to your child and others about, the safe storage of firearms.

In 2021, 4,613 Texans experienced gun-related deaths. The Texas Department of State Health Services (SHS) reports that 55% of Texas firearms deaths in 2020 were suicides and that 59% of all suicides in Texas were by firearms. Suicide attempts involving firearms have a 90% fatality rate. Restricting access to guns is critical in reducing acts of violence, whether as self-harm or towards others. Acts of mass violence and interpersonal violence often end in suicide.

It is unlawful to store, transport, or abandon an unsecured firearm in a place where children are likely to be and can obtain access to the firearm. Under Texas Penal Code 46.13, a person commits the offense of making a firearm accessible to a child if the child gains access to a readily dischargeable firearm, and the person with criminal negligence:

· Failed to secure the firearm; or

· Left the firearm in a place to which the person knew or should have known the child would gain access

The penalty for allowing a child access to a firearm can range from a Class C misdemeanor (punishable by a $500 fine) to a Class A misdemeanor (punishable by a $4000 fine, a year in jail, or a combination of the two).

Texas exempts the purchase of firearm safety equipment from Texas Sales and Use Tax.

Remember, a gun should be stored unloaded in a safe or locked container, with ammunition stored elsewhere. You can learn more and find additional resources from the Texas Department of Public Safety at https://safegunstoragetexas.com.

Safe gun storage is critical to preventing suicide, unintentional shootings, and other tragedies.

If you are driving and parking on campus, you need to have a student parking pass.

The way to get a parking pass is by bringing $25, your driver's license, car insurance, and your drivers license plate number to the front office. Mr. Sen will direct you to the student parking section.

If you do not have a parking pass, you will be towed. We don’t want to tow your car so please make sure you bring all information to the front. For more information please email tsen@harmonytx.org.

On March 3rd, 53 seniors from Harmony School of Excellence experienced the breathtaking artistry of The Peking Acrobats at the historic Paramount Theatre! Known for their gravity-defying stunts, incredible balance, and awe-inspiring feats of strength, the Peking Acrobats left our students in absolute amazement.

Our HSE Varsity Boys Soccer Team is on a roll! They took down IDEA Kyle 2-0 last Saturday and then defeated Valor Education South Austin 7-0 on Wednesday. Talk about making a statement!

Not to be outdone, the Lady Tigers Varsity Soccer Team battled it out and clutched a 2-1 victory over IDEA Kyle last Saturday! And let’s hear it for our Middle School Boys Soccer Team, who made their debut yesterday and secured a 2-0 win like pros! First game, first dub, no big deal! Huge shoutout to HSE alumnus Cristian Rostro (Class of 2023) for stepping up as assistant coach for the varsity boys team! From dominating on the field to leading from the sideline. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger! Next stop: IDEA Montopolis College Prep TOMORROW at Southeast Metropolitan Park! Time to bring the heat again! Let’s pack the stands and show them how HSE gets it done!

¡Nuestro equipo de fútbol masculino de HSE está en racha! Derrotaron a IDEA Kyle 2-0 el sábado pasado y luego derrotaron a Valor 7-0 el miércoles. ¡Excelente victoria! We currently have a community cabinet on our campus that is meant to be stocked with essential items such as hygiene products and clothes for our students who are in need of them Unfortunately, it's not stocked enough to help supply and support our current student population. We are kindly asking for donations for the following items:

• Belts/Jackets/Socks
• Khaki/Black/Navy pants
