Principal's Message
Dear Indian Creek Families,
Thank you for helping out with our Walk-A-Thon! We are grateful for your donations. That money goes directly back to our students and staff here at ICIS. We are truly appreciative of your generosity. We look forward to going to the track this afternoon for our walk!
We have had such an exciting October here at ICIS. Thank you to everyone who came in for parent teacher conferences. We are grateful for all the family support that this school has! Thank you to our outstanding PTO for organizing Halloween Halls at the beginning of the month. It was a wonderful collaboration between the elementary and intermediate. The students had a great time! If you would like to be more involved with NHJ PTO, please join us at our next meeting Tuesday, Nov 12th at 6pm in the ICES cafeteria. We hope to see you there!
We are looking forward to our Veterans Day Celebration on Monday, November 11th. We will have a whole school convocation at the Performing Arts Center (which is right across the parking lot from us) at 2pm. We are excited to honor our local heroes!
Johnson County 4-H Week will be Nov 4-8th. During this week, the Johnson County 4H program send their 4-H Ambassadors to each school to talk to the students. High School students will be coming on Monday, November 4th to speak to each class during their lunch about 4H, what it is, and how to join.

AP Announcements
Congratulations to our Follow Your Arrow recipients for quarter 1. For this award, each teacher is allowed to nominate just one student. For the criteria, we ask teachers to look for the following things:
A student who consistently models our school-wide expectations for respect, responsibility, and safety.
A student who always works to achieve their personal best, behaviorally or academically.
All recipients were surprised with the announcements of their awards at a school wide convocation on October 14th, recognized in front of their peers, and were also given a certificate with a blurb written by their nominating teacher. We loved being able to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments.
We are exceptionally proud of all winners and are grateful to have such wonderful students at Indian Creek Intermediate!

Counselor's Corner
Happy November!! As I look back on last month, I really enjoyed getting to know the students a little more and spent a lot of time in their classrooms. October was National Bullying Prevention Month and we really worked together and had great discussions on how to continue to treat others with respect and kindness here at ICIS. I am proud of all of them for understanding that being accepting, kind, and inclusive can help make our school a better place.
