GKCWP Updates

This is just a note of encouragement to document your thinking, track your experiences, your successes and "failures" as you work with students remotely. Eventually, we will have time and an opportunity to pause and reflect.

I see a professional writing retreat in our future, where we can make sense together of what we have experienced and learned. You will have much to share, so please take good notes :)

You can also join facebook.com/CaseyDaugherty daily at 9am and 9pm to write in communion with others.

Join us on Mondays at 10am for a local Zoom call. This is an informal space to check in with others. We start with a few minutes of writing and then we address any questions, concerns or group needs. GKCWP Write On! zoom call on Monday, 3/30, 10am (Click here to join )

On Thursday at 10am, you can join the MWPN Zoom call, connecting teachers throughout the state. This week, in addition to our general check in, we will be talking about what is going on around the state in regards to IEPs, grades, and other online learning transitions. The season premiere is today, March 30, at 2pm and features our guest teacher, Melanie Fuemmeler. You can join episodes live each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2pm. And we will figure out how to make the recordings available. Click here to join.

If you have an online teaching activity/idea/strategy that might benefit other teachers, please consider sharing it as a guest presenter. Email Katie with your ideas.

Many of our programs will move online, including the Summer Institute and KC Storytellers, though we are still working on details.

Some of our programs will be cancelled, including the Middle School Writers Conference in May.
