Superintendent's Letter to the Community
Retirement Announcement
Dear D103 Community,
I am writing to inform you of my plans to retire in 2026. This decision has not been made lightly, as serving as your superintendent has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding chapters of my professional career.
It has been an extraordinary privilege to work alongside such dedicated educators, staff, students, parents, and community members who consistently prioritize the success and well-being of our students. Together, we have achieved significant milestones which was a result of two strategic plans that outlined building additions and improvements for all three schools, improving our curriculum in all subjects and social emotional learning, implementing 1:1 computing for students, and changing school start times to match students' health needs, all while maintaining a fiscally responsible budget. These accomplishments reflect our shared commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence that defines our district.
Throughout my tenure, I have been inspired daily by the passion and resilience of our students, our staff's commitment, and our community's unwavering support. These partnerships have been the cornerstone of our district’s accomplishments, and I am deeply grateful to our entire community.
As I look ahead to the next phase of my life, I am excited to spend more time with my family and pursue personal interests. While stepping away from this role will be bittersweet, I am confident the district is well-positioned for continued success.
Until my retirement, I will work closely with the Board of Education and our staff to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition. Our shared focus will remain on advancing the district's strategic goals and maintaining the high standards of excellence that our community expects and deserves.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve this incredible district. It has been an honor to lead, to learn, and to grow alongside all of you. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together and am eager to see the bright future that lies ahead for our students and community.
With deep gratitude,
Scott Warren, Ed.D.
