WMS's New Sign-In System

We are excited to share an update to our current system for student and visitor sign-in as well as for when students need to be signed out during the day. Following our return from Parent-Teacher Conferences, Westside Middle School, Westbrook Elementary, and Rockbrook Elementary will begin a pilot program of the Raptor Visitor Management System. If you have older students at the high school, this is the same company that operates their SchoolPass digital pass system. Our goal is to implement consistent systems for students and families while ensuring secure documentation of visitors to our schools.
Visitors
If you visit our school at times that students are present, you'll need to check in at the front office just like you always have. This might be for a meeting, to talk with someone at the office, or any time that you would currently sign our paper sign in form. What's new about Visitor Management is that it helps us monitor the guest to our building to better support the safety of students, families and staff.
- When you arrive you'll be asked to scan a state issued ID
- If you don't have your ID with you, the Administrative Assistant at the front desk can help sign you in manually and will need your legal first name, last name, and date of birth.
- Once this information is entered, you'll receive a visitor badge designating the location you are visiting today.
- When it's time to leave, you'll scan the barcode on that badge to sign yourself out.
Student Arrival
If your child is arriving to school late from an appointment or you are running behind they have to check in at the main office. With our new system, students will do so electronically. In most cases they'll still receive a paper pass to send them to class. Students will sign in with the help of the Administrative Assistant using their student ID number. We will work on having the students learn their ID number.
Students Leaving Early
If your child is being picked up early for the day, they'll need to check out at the office like they always have. Instead of signing out on paper, they'll need to let the Administrative Assistant at the front desk know and they will check the student out through the system.
Thanks For Your Help With Our New System
As with any new system we know that this will take some adjusting. We appreciate your patience as our teams learn to use this new program that we believe improves the safety, accuracy, and consistency of student and visitor management at our school.
