Wrapping Up the School Year and Wishing You a Wonderful Summer
Students, Families, and Staff,
As we approach the end of another remarkable school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on our collective achievements and extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to making this year so successful.
**Reflecting on Our Achievements**
This year has been filled with incredible growth, learning, and memorable experiences. Our students have excelled academically, artistically, and socially, all showcasing their talents and dedication. From the many STEAM experiences and fieldtrips, College and Career Day, Multi-Cultural Fair, Bulldog Café to our STEAM Creativity Fair and our amazing musical performances, our students have demonstrated resilience, creativity, and a strong commitment to excellence.
Our teachers and staff have gone above and beyond to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students. Their unwavering dedication to education and their willingness to embrace new challenges have been truly inspiring. BMS teachers are the best!! I want to extend a special thank you and congratulations to Mr. Jeff Stoll who is retiring after 36 years of teaching with 30 of those years serving students and families as a Physical Education and DAPE teacher for BMS. He and his wife are excited to join their children and grandchildren in Montana, we will miss him, but we are so excited for him to begin this next phase in his life. Best of Luck Mr. Stoll!!
**Good Luck to our 8th graders**
As we bid farewell to this school year, we also say goodbye to our 8th graders who will be moving on to new adventures in high school. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and confident they will continue to thrive and make positive impacts in their future endeavors.
**Looking Forward to the Summer**
Summer break is a time for rest, rejuvenation, and exploration. It’s an opportunity for students to pursue their passions, spend quality time with family and friends, and recharge for the upcoming school year. Whether you're traveling to new places, enjoying local activities, or simply relaxing at home, I hope you have a fantastic and safe summer.
For those students who love to stay curious and engaged, consider picking up a new book, exploring a hobby, or participating in a summer camp or workshop. These activities can provide enriching experiences and keep the spirit of learning alive.
**Stay Connected**
Even though we are parting ways for the summer, let's stay connected. Keep an eye on our school's website and social media channels for updates and information about the upcoming school year. We look forward to welcoming you back in the fall with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
In closing, I want to express my deepest appreciation for the unwavering support from our students, families, and staff. Together, we have made this school year a success. Have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing you all in the new school year.
Have a fabulous summer!
Kim Monette, Principal
YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION
Students who purchased a 2023-24 BMS Yearbook will receive them in Advisory on Tuesday, June 4th.
There will be a very limited number of yearbooks for sale in room 127 from Ms. Romano, before and after school ONLY, beginning Wednesday, June 5th for $20 cash. They will be first come, first serve. We cannot reserve or hold yearbooks or take phone orders. Students must bring $20 cash to room 127 either before or after school only while the supply lasts. Once they are gone there will be no more.
Thank You,
Beth Romano, Yearbook Advisor
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
As we approach the end of the school year, we would appreciate your help in reminding your student(s) of the following:
· Cell phones are to be turned off and kept in student lockers during the school day.
· Personal headphones and ear buds are to be kept at home or in student lockers during the school day.
· Students should arrive on time at school each and every day. Doors open at 7:50 and class begins at 8:10am.
· If your child does not feel well, has a fever of 100.4 or greater, vomiting or diarrhea they must stay home until they are symptom free for 24 hours without the use of medication.
· Please do not send an ill child to school. They will not be able to learn well and could cause other students/staff to become ill.
If your student becomes ill while in school, they are to report to the health office. Our nurse will assess the situation and contact you to pick your student up if they cannot return to class. Students are not to call home for someone to pick up. The nurse will do this. All ill students are required to sign-out through the health office when leaving school due to illness.
We do appreciate all you do to support your student(s) and Brooklyn Middle STEAM School.

Structural Engineer STEAM Explorers
8th grade students participated in a virtual call with a structural engineer to learn more about this exciting career. He is currently on the structural engineering team for the Super Nintendo World down at the Epic Universe in Orlando, FL. After the virtual call, students worked in groups to complete the nail design challenge. 8th grade students will be going to Valley Fair on May 29th for Physics Day so this was a great connection to exploring a career in designing and building rollercoasters.
Meteorologist STEAM Explorers
A meteorologist from the National Weather Service visited with 6th grade students.

The Multicultural Fair was a beautiful night of celebrating culture with our Bulldog community! There was delicious food from around Brooklyn Park, Bulldog Cookbook and tasting hosted by Ms. Romano and students, a fashion show, games, henna, performances and more!
