Letter From Our Administration
October 24, 2024
Dear Parents,
One of SkyView’s pillars is Character Education. Through character education, our students learn skills that will help them make responsible and intelligent choices. When children learn to make good choices they are more committed to learning and they develop habits that make them life-long learners and honorable leaders.
Character Counts is a program designed to help develop essential values focusing on trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Starting in November, every SVA student will receive and participate in Character Counts lessons. By integrating these principles into everyday life, we aim to foster an environment where children can develop strong moral character.
Next month’s character trait will be Trustworthiness. It involves being honest, reliable, and dependable. When children understand the importance of trustworthiness, they learn to honor commitments and be truthful, which fosters a sense of integrity that will benefit them throughout their lives. Together, we can guide our children to become responsible individuals and compassionate members of our community.
As parents, we can model trustworthiness by demonstrating honesty in our daily interactions and being reliable in our promises. Open discussions about the significance of trust can help children grasp why it matters to be truthful and how it impacts their relationships. By reinforcing the idea that trust is built over time through consistent actions and open communication, we equip our children with the skills they need to become trustworthy individuals in all aspects of their lives.
Gracias,
Javier Negrón
