Olympic Middle School
Weekly Message for April 28 - May 3
Good afternoon Olympic families and staff!
The walk-a-thon was a huge success and thank you to the students and families who continue to send in pledge money! The money earned goes directly to support our students. I also want to say a big thank you to our leadership students: they provided guided tours and answered questions from the 4th grade students in all three of our elementary schools who came for their first transition activity last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
We have some fun events occurring this week:
Tuesday April 30th, our 5th grade students will participate in the Forest Festival Field Day at the Mason Lake Recreation Area.
Friday, May 3rd will be our next PTSO/OMS school social after school until 4:00 pm. Watch for more information coming soon.
For our current 5th grade students: If you have not turned in your application for summer school, please do so this week so we can plan accordingly. Applications can be found in our front office. We will begin our state testing (SBA) the week of May 7th. I have attached the testing schedule to this newsletter. If you could check it and have your student to school on time on those testing days, that would be helpful. Research shows that students test better when it is done in class with their peers.
Intramurals:
Monday: Practice M-Z Only
Tuesday: Meet @Highclimber Stadium M-Z Only
Wednesday: No Practice
Thursday: Meet @Hood Canal Schools A-L Only (Bus leaves OMS at 2:10)
Friday: Practice A-L Only
Let us have a wonderful week at Olympic!
Mary K. Johnson, Principal
