CAR LINE REMINDERS!
As a reminder, AM Carline ENDS at 8:30am. This allows our staff to get to their classrooms in time to start the day. Any student arriving in car line at or after 8:30am must come through the front office.
PM Carline ENDS at 3:40pm. This allows our staff to return to their classrooms to finish their day and prep for the next day. Please be mindful of this when picking up your student at the end of the day.
VOTING FOR ELC FAVORITES!
Dear Families,
Next week, we are excited to introduce our K-3 students to a valuable lesson in citizenship through a school-wide voting experience. Starting on Monday, November 4th, we will review the voting process with students, including a look at the questions on the ballot. Students will have the opportunity to visit the polls and cast their votes on either Wednesday, November 6th, or Thursday, November 7th. Finally, on Friday, November 8th, we will announce the results during the morning announcements.
This activity is designed to show our students the importance of voting and help them understand this civic privilege in a way that is relatable and age-appropriate. We look forward to sharing this experience with our young learners and appreciate your support in reinforcing the value of responsible citizenship.
Thank you for helping us make this event a meaningful learning opportunity for your child!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Kelly HendricksonELC Principal
OCTOBER STAR STUDENTS
Congratulations to our October Star Students!
ELC EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!
Mrs. Penny Allen is the ELC Employee of the Month for October! Per her peers,
"Penny is always there when she is needed in the classroom and is the first one to volunteer to help with the kids when anything arises. She is always there to help when asked and has never said no. She always says, "I will figure it out". She is the best!"
RAISE CRAZE!
BASKET BRIGADE
October, 2024
Hello AGCS Families!
Since 2008, AGCS has participated in the International Basket Brigade, providing “Thanksgiving Dinner in a Basket” to several AGCS and community families in need. Over these past 15 years, we have provided a Thanksgiving Basket to over 600 families!
The International Basket Brigade is built on a simple notion: one small act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of hundreds. It takes only one light to dispel the darkness, and even just one basket or a few, to bring hope!
Each classroom will be collecting items to fill a Thanksgiving basket. These baskets will be delivered to families in our local communities, including our own AGCS families. By the end of the week, your child’s teacher will be sending you a link to sign up to bring in an item for your class Thanksgiving Basket. Participation in the Basket Brigade is strictly voluntary. If you are not able to donate an item at this time, we understand.
We are including the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade as one of the Raise Craze School-Wide Service Projects. Donating an item(s) to your class basket is an Act of Kindness that can be registered in Raise Craze! You may submit more than one item for your classroom basket. All extra food items will be used to create additional baskets!
In addition to the items being assigned to each of the students, we are asking for donations of the following items below to complete the basket.
We would like for each basket to have a minimum of one $15.00 (or higher amount) gift card to a local grocery store to offset the cost of the family purchasing a turkey, or to purchase a large turkey breast. This has not been assigned to any student since it is quite a bit more than the cost of a box of instant potatoes or a can of green beans.
We also need a donation of the ACTUAL basket that the food items will be in - these baskets can be laundry baskets, wicker baskets, etc.
Please have all donations turned in to your child’s classroom teacher either by
Friday, Nov. 15th to register the donation as a Raise Craze Act of Kindness OR
Thursday, Nov. 21st to be included in your class basket.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to give me a call and I will be happy to discuss this with you.
I would like to thank you in advance for your participation in this wonderful program, helping many families in need this Thanksgiving season.
Mrs. Maggie Johnson
