Orlando, Florida Performing Arts Department Trip: HHS Band and Choir at Universal Studios
The Hightstown High School Band and Choir recently traveled to Orlando, Florida, where they had the exciting opportunity to perform at Universal Studios and take part in a film scoring and foley sound effects workshop.
The students performed live at Universal Studios, showcasing their talents in the parks. Their performances were set against the vibrant backdrop of the park, providing an unforgettable experience for both the performers and the audience.
In addition to performing, the students participated in an interactive workshop at Universal Studios, where they learned the art of film scoring and sound design. They explored how music and foley sound effects are created for films, gaining hands-on experience in making their own sounds to match scenes. After everything was recorded, a Universal Studios sound engineer created a rough cut of their performance to the backdrop of a Despicable Me movie clip.
The trip also gave students the chance to bond and enjoy the excitement of the theme parks. Overall, it was an inspiring and educational experience, offering valuable insights into the world of film production and music.
