Mrs. Larsen's Kindergarten Class
This week in Mrs. Larsen's Kindergarten class, our young learners have been working hard on several important skills. Here's a glimpse into what they've been up to:
Phonics Lessons with Heggerty: Students have been engaging in phonics lessons using the Heggerty program. They are learning to sound out words by identifying and blending sounds, which is a crucial step in developing their reading skills.
Writing Sentences with Nouns and Verbs: Our focus has been on constructing sentences using nouns and verbs. The students have done a phenomenal job writing their own sentences and illustrating them. This activity helps them understand the structure of a sentence and the roles that nouns and verbs play.
Handwriting Skills: We have been practicing handwriting, emphasizing the use of capital letters at the beginning of sentences and proper spacing between words. Students are using erasers to correct their work and ensure neatness.
Illustrations: To complement their sentences, students have been creating detailed illustrations. This not only makes their work more engaging but also helps them express their ideas visually.
We are incredibly proud of the progress our students are making. They are developing essential literacy skills that will serve as a foundation for their future learning.
