BA Senior Selected for Prestigious Scholarship
A huge congratulations to Jimena Moreno for being selected as a Semifinalist for the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship Program! Out of 571 semifinalists nationwide, Jimena stands out as the ONLY student from DISD to advance! The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. This highly competitive scholarship is a life-changing opportunity, offering incredible benefits to help students achieve their academic dreams: Up to $55,000 per year to cover tuition, living expenses, books, and fees for a bachelor’s degree at any accredited institution. Freedom to pursue any area of study she's passionate about. Personalized advising on selecting colleges, navigating financial aid, and making the most of her college experience. A special shoutout to Coach Stehsel and Mr. Liechty for their amazing recommendation letters, which played a big role in helping Jimena shine in this process. Their support truly makes a difference!

Celebrating Counselor Appreciation Week at Bryan Adams!
This week, we honor the incredible counselors at Bryan Adams High School for their unwavering dedication, guidance, and support. Our counseling team plays a vital role in shaping student success—whether they’re helping with academic planning, providing emotional support, or guiding students toward college and career opportunities.
Join us in showing gratitude for their hard work and commitment to our Cougar community. A simple thank-you, a note of appreciation, or a kind gesture can go a long way in recognizing the difference they make every day.

Bryan Adams High School Celebrates Black History Month!
Throughout February, BAHS will honor Black history, culture, and excellence with engaging events and activities for students and staff. The celebrations kick off with a Hallway Decoration Competition (Feb. 3-21), where students showcase their creativity, culminating in the winner announcement on Feb. 28.
Join us for HBCU Night (Feb. 11) at the Boys Basketball Game vs. West Mesquite, where we celebrate Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The week of Feb. 17-21 brings Dress-Up Days, featuring Camouflage Day, 90s Hip-Hop Day, Global Cultures Day, and HBCU/College Day, along with Class Wars.
On Feb. 21, the Black Student Union will host a Pep Rally, leading into the Black Heritage Festival from 6-8 PM. “The CookOut” will feature a dynamic fashion show at 5 PM, celebrating African and Afro-Latino cultures.
Finally, on Feb. 25, the BA Library Department presents a Lunch and Learn (11 AM - 1 PM), offering an educational space to reflect on Black history and contributions.
Students and staff can also purchase exclusive Black History Month apparel throughout the celebrations. Let’s come together to remember, educate, and celebrate Black history at BA!

Defense Season is Coming!
Our Sophomores and Seniors must complete a Portfolio Defense in order to participate in their Graduation Ceremony. This presentation will be in front of 3-5 panelists (Advisor, Teacher, and Community member) where students share how their educational journey at Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy has prepared them to be college, career, and/or military ready. We would be honored if you could volunteer and participate as a panelist.

AP Prep Sessions continue THIS MONTH!
To help students prepare for core content Advanced Placement exams, Advanced Placement Prep Sessions, facilitated by Dallas ISD AP teachers, are offered on the following scheduled Saturdays: Feb. 22, Mar. 22, and Apr. 5, 2025 of the Spring Semester. It is the expectation that all students enrolled in an AP course will take the corresponding AP exam.
The sessions supplement student learning through specific skill-building, test-taking strategies, and time management skills necessary for AP exam success. Links will be provided directly to AP teachers to share with students for participation in these sessions.

Please make sure your Senior fees are paid on time! Students who do not pay their Senior fees will not be allowed to attend any Senior events, including Prom and SIx Flags
