Dr. Isett's Weekly Message
Week of April 28, 2025
Dear Colts Families,
We wrapped up the first week of testing on a high note! Thank you to all our families for your support in ensuring students arrived ready to try their best. Your encouragement and partnership make a world of difference, and we are so proud of the focus and determination our Colts demonstrated throughout the week. Testing will continue this week, and we remain confident our students will continue to shine.
This upcoming week, we are thrilled to celebrate Staff Appreciation Week at River Heights! We are incredibly grateful for every member of our team—our dedicated teachers, instructional aides, school psychologists, counselors, clerical staff, custodians, campus supervisors, and all support staff. Each of them plays an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment for our students.
We encourage families to join us in recognizing our amazing staff by reviewing the flyer below, which includes simple and meaningful ways to show appreciation throughout the week.
Thank you again for your continued support. We look forward to another successful week ahead!
Kind Regards,
Eva Isett, Ed. D.
Principal

Families of 8th Graders,
To participate in end-of-year activities, students must meet expectations in grades, attendance, tardies, and behavior. The monthly no-go list determines eligibility. Our counseling team is available for extra support if needed. Thank you for helping your student finish strong!

A message from our counselors
Dear Parents and Guardians,
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting well-being.
One of the most powerful ways we can support our middle schoolers is by encouraging open communication. Let your child know that they can talk to you about their thoughts, feelings, or any difficult situations they might be facing.
Many teens struggle to put their feelings and thoughts into words. In many cases, they want to talk about it but aren’t sure when or how. The following questions may help:
1. I’ve noticed you’ve seemed a bit off lately. Is something bothering you?
2. Is there a particular situation or event that's been causing you stress or anxiety?
3. I've noticed some changes in your behavior. Is there something going on that you'd like to discuss?
4. What activities or hobbies help you when you’re feeling down?
5. I’ve struggled with depression/stress/anxiety before. It happens, but there are ways we can improve it. Let’s talk about it.
These can be a helpful tool to initiate discussions about feelings, stress, and coping strategies.
By fostering open communication and demonstrating that we are a safe and supportive resource, we can empower our middle schoolers to navigate challenges and build resilience.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting the well-being of our students.
Sincerely,
Mrs. B. and Mrs. Lloy

School Safety & Security
See something, say something
At River Heights, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community are our top priority. Students, if you witness or experience bullying, threats, or suspicious behavior, report it to a trusted adult. Parents, stay engaged by talking to your children about their school experiences, monitoring online activities, and reporting concerns.
Together, we can ensure our school remains a safe, secure, and supportive environment for everyone. Thank you for your continued vigilance and partnership in this effort.
Witness Statement
We take allegations of bullying and harassment seriously. Please have your student complete a witness statement if they have something to report. If it is an urgent matter, please call the front office at (951) 738-2155, if it is an emergency, please call 911.
