We look forward to working together in partnership to ensure the success of each and every one of our students. A friendly reminder that the first day of school is Thursday, August 15th and all Thursdays are short days. Students will be dismissed at 2:05. We start serving breakfast beginning at 8:30 and students not eating breakfast can begin arriving at 8:40 to walk the track once the bell rings. At 8:55, students walk safely to line.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
- Patience is key! Please be respectful of all staff and parent volunteers that are directing traffic. When one person does not follow the procedure, it creates confusion and frustration. Let's be examples to all of our beavers.
- The yellow curb lane closest to the school is for drop-off/pick-up only! Drivers may not park and leave their cars.
- If you need help getting your student out, please let one of our staff members know and we can help. Please do not get out of your vehicle.
- Pull ALL the way up WITHOUT moving ahead of any other cars.
- The driveway is a 5 MILE PER HOUR speed zone. Driving at a faster rate of speed endangers ALL of our students.
- When exiting the parking lot, you may turn left OR right.
Parking
Like most schools, our parking is very limited. If you would like to park, you have choices. 😀
- Visitor spots in our main lot, on the street (NOT ON A RED CURB), along the alley way that we share with the parks and rec, as well as the back lot by the park. Please DO NOT park at Orangevale Park and walk over. This is not our parking lot and is for recreational park use only.
- Please DO NOT park or pull into the side lot by Discovery Club at arrival or dismissal. This lot is specifically for Discovery Club parents, After School Care Transportation, and staff.
- Please access our school and your vehicle by use of the crosswalk only.
***The First 7 days***
From August 15-August 23rd, parents may stay with their students until school starts. Beginning August 26th, please share hugs in the car or at the red line in front of our school and drop your student off. I assure you that our beavers will be ready to have some independence. We have staff supervising our students to ensure safety.
VERY IMPORTANT! ALL FAMILIES PLEASE COMPLETE THE CHECKLIST

Theater is coming our way! 3 days per week! Meet Mr. Danz
I’m thrilled to be part of the Green Oaks community and so excited to help shape the theater program here! Growing up in Placerville, I spent many of my elementary age years participating in local community theater productions and through these opportunities found a love for theater. This led me to continue to participate in theater productions in high school, and sparked an interest to pursue it professionally. So after graduating from high school, I was accepted as a theater major UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, where I received my BA, and went on to spend then next decade as a professional actor in Los Angeles where some of my credits included TV shows such as NCIS and Numb3rs, as well as countless professional theater productions and a national tour. In 2014 I decided to close that chapter of my life and switch to teaching. I moved back up to Northern California in 2017 with my wife and two kids, and have been teaching 5th-grade since. With this new role at Green Oaks, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to combine two areas of my life into which I have invested so much: theater and teaching! I truly believe that experiences in the performing arts help kids foster creativity, curiosity, empathy and compassion. When I’m not in the classroom, I’m an avid jazz pianist, and I love speaking, listening to and reading Italian.
