Noon Dismissal Friday, September 27th
This Friday will mark our next noon dismissal of the school year. All students will be eating lunch, so please be sure to purchase pizza for Friday, have them order lunch, or pack something for them. Note that we will release students beginning at 12:00 for regular dismissal until 12:15. After that, students in Kindergarten-8th grades will go to aftercare. This does cost $15 per student ($5 per sibling) and is good from 12:15- 5:30pm. Please be sure that PK-3 and VPK students need to be picked up at 12:00. Things to note:
- Sailing students will not be charged the $15 aftercare fee as staff will take them to the sailing center at 1:00.
- Student participating in Dungeons and Dragons: game time will be from 12:00-3:00. Pick up can be at 3, but students will be released to aftercare at that time.
The Words We Use at School
Many of our students have been using a variety of colorful language at school recently. Please speak with your child(ren) about appropriate language to use while they are in the classroom and out on the playground. This message is geared mostly toward our Upper Elementary and Middle School students as the younger students are beginning to repeat these words. Thank you for paying attention to this and discussing this with your child.
Head Lice Outbreak
Please note that several schools in the area have been affected by a head lice outbreak and this has also been found in our classrooms as well. We follow the districts "no-nit" policy which means that a student may not return to school if the eggs of head lice are still present in the hair. Be sure that you are checking your child's head everyday for these pesky lice and be sure to treat with the appropriate solution if they are found. If you need more information, please be sure to reach out and we can assist you.
Know that head lice are not an indication of a dirty or unkempt home or poor personal hygiene. Lice are a nuisance insect and can be treated quickly. Be sure that you also treat things in your home that they can live on like pillows, bead sheets, stuffed animals, and carpets/rugs.
Thank you for paying close attention to this matter.
