SAMUEL V. CHAMPION HIGH SCHOOL
Campus Update - Volume 35 - May 6, 2024
THANK OUR TEACHERS THIS WEEK!
Dear Charger Nation,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and excellent start to the week. This week, I encourage all to take a moment to thank our hard working teachers who make such a difference in the lives of our students. Every day, I am so humbled to see the time, energy, and passion poured into our students not only in the classroom but way beyond by sponsoring clubs and organizations, coaching multiple sports, and supporting our students any way possible. Parents and students, I invite you to help us express our appreciation to our teachers by writing a note, sending an email, or offering a word of thanks this week. I know it means the world to our team.
So many great moments all around campus captured and showcased below. Orchestra performed at their end of year Spring concert, Band Wind Ensemble traveled to state, JROTC held their end of year awards ceremony, and our Charger Track and Field program had an outstanding showing at State. Phoenix Guerra finished in the top 10 at the state Golf Tournament. Last week we also held our first Medical Clinical Assistant Certification pinning ceremony where students who finished our CTE Health Science pathway were recognized for their efforts and accomplishments. We also announced our Class of 24 Top 10 and are busy preparing for our upcoming graduation ceremony. Seniors, be on the lookout for an email with graduation information.
On Friday, we held our annual Burger Bash and we could not have done it with our parent volunteers and office staff who helped throughout the day. Thank you thank you for helping us grill, plate, and serve 1,000 burgers!
AP testing continues, finals prep is ongoing, and a few remaining major events and activities are scheduled. Don't forget to support our Charger Baseball team who is in the second round of the playoffs as well as our end of year Musical, Into the Woods, by our Champion Musical Theater Best of luck to all.
Have a great rest of the week and never forget, Go Chargers!
Dr. Hinojosa, Principal

SPECIAL REQUEST - Off Site Parent Pickup
Parents & Students,
Our neighboring businesses Marcos Pizza/Shipley Donuts in the Business Center have asked us to let parents know to please not pick up students in their parking lot and/or driveway entrances as it has become a safety issue. Parents that pick up students can do so by following our communicated campus pickup and drop off protocols. Additionally, please be aware that cars will begin to be towed. Students should not park there during the day if they do not have a campus parking permit. Additionally, parents please do not park out on the main street by the the Cibolo Nature Center to wait for your student. This has caused a safety issue for students as well as other cars driving through the area.
