Hey ROOS...Are You Ready for What is Coming Our Way Soon?
Coming Soon....So Be On the Look Out For the Following!
ROO Campaign is Coming Our Way!
TELPAS Testing is Tuesday and Wednesday!
" From our earliest days, Black History has been American History! From the slaves who carried the stones to build the White House to the Black soldiers who helped to fight for our nation's independence. African American culture has profoundly shaped American culture, music, arts, literature, and sports. Through dance they have told the stories of who were, who we are, and who we can be. During Black History Month, we celebrate the people who have shaped our heritage. We remembered those who struggled for our rights and our freedoms. We reflect on how far we have come and how much farther we have to go. Happy Black History Month, a power of a movement! "
------ From Barack and Michelle Obama
ROOS Taking Timeout To Tell What Black History Means to Them!
Mrs. Jalonda Jones, Math
To me, Black History Month is a time to reflect on and celebrate the contributions, achievements, and resilience of Black individuals throughout history. It gives us the opportunity to foster awareness and understanding of struggles within the Black community. Black History Month also allows us to learn more about the often-overlooked stories of lesser-known Black individuals as well as honor the legacy of influential figures we already know.
Mrs. Courtney Green, English
Mrs. Courtney Green expressed that Black History means PRIDE ! It is the opportunity to be proud that the steps from people, of the past and known as our ancestors, have paved the way for us today.
Mr. Reginald Mouton, Health Sciences
Mr. Reginald Mouton expressed that Black History provides the opportunity for him to educate himself and others on the history of his ancestors and their contribution to this American way.
Ms. De'ja Higgins, English Long-term Substitute Teacher
Ms. De'ja Higgins expressed that Black History reveals you to know your roots and where you came from. Black History helps to define yourself, so that the world cannot define you!
Ms. Torshal Cook, English Long-term Substitute Teacher
Ms. Torshal Cook stated, "Black History Month is a celebration of how far I've come in succeeding from the discreditation from my identity, honoring our ancestors and their hidden contributions, and as I continue to endow time to understand that there is work to be done."
