Family Literacy Night!
Church Hill's Family Literacy Night was a success! Our Family Resource Center shared 10 tips with parents to help their child/children become better readers! Thank you to Ms. Cynthia Duncan for her generous donations made to our students at Church Hill. She donated books and movie pass to our 1st and 2nd grade students. Two chapters of the book was read. The students were instructed to draw and write down what they thought would happen next. The students shared great ideas and pictures with each other.
The Parent Center also shared tips to parents with children birth to 5 years old. Each student from birth to the age of 5 received a book on their level.
The Family Resource Center is designed to provide resources to parents, grandparents, guardians, childcare providers and teachers to encourage and support children in their learning efforts. The center houses over 18,000 resources that are available for checkout and on-site use to the public. Family and community engagement activities are held throughout the year.
