November 3: The NCAA will be hosting a webinar for prospective student-athletes and their families interested in playing at the Division I, II or III level. Students/families can follow this link to register for the webinar which will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
November 6: College visit to Ferris State University.
November 7: SOS (Signs of Suicide) Presentations by OnPoint in World History classes.
November 8: Dual Enrollment paperwork due to the Guidance Office.
November 18 at 6:00 pm: Financial Aid Night for seniors and families in the WHS Media Center.
November 20: Virtual Financial Aid Nights provided by MI Student Aid.
Anytime: Watch a recording of Financial Aid 101 provided by MI Student Aid.

Credit Recovery: Credit recovery registration is still open! If students previously failed a course required for graduation, they should strongly consider credit recovery. Both in-person and virtual options are available. Please see your counselor to register!

Main Office Reminder

No food or drink should be delivered during the school day. The only exception is for extra-curricular events, or after school practices.

In addition, any student signing in late will not be allowed to bring food or drink with them.

Picture Retake Day was held October 16th. You can still order pictures online with Inter-State. Use order code 87817XD.

Theater

improv.anonymous will be performing on November 6th at 6pm, at the Dorr Township Library.

This is a free event for anyone interested. Come show your support!

Choir

These three hardworking and amazing singers (pictured above) made it into the 2024 MSVMA Regional Honors Choir. This required many extra hours of practice outside of school hours. They learned and memorized a Latin piece of music for a video audition and will now be learning four more pieces of music to perform on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Western Michigan University's Dalton Center. This concert will be open to the public and will begin at 3pm. Congratulations, Lillian Harrison, Madison Campos, and Ariel White!

"No Girls Allowed" Day will be held November 11th, during the School Day. 6th through 12th grade Tenors and Basses will gather together and have a day full of singing together and getting to know one another. This day is intended for Tenors and Basses only to embrace the importance of these voices and to support their choral endeavors.

Wayland High School is proud to host MSVMA’s Theater Solo and Ensemble for the first time. This will be held November 16th, and is a beloved event where students in Select And Honors Choir will sing two selections from Broadway shows and perform them in front of a judge. We look forward to seeing our singers' hard work and dedication pay off!

De-stress Sesh

Class of 2025 Senior Photos

Senior photos should be emailed to yearbook@waylandunion.org. Please share only ONE photo to be used in the yearbook. Photos need to be in portrait orientation. The clothing choice needs to follow the school dress code. A simple head and shoulder shot looks best in the yearbook. Please crop photos before submitting.

Photos due are by Friday, December 13, 2024.

We request that the pictures look professional (i.e. no “Selfies”). If there are financial issues preventing a student from having a senior picture taken, please let us know because we can arrange for a yearbook photographer to take some nice pictures. WUHS 2025 Senior Salutes

Senior Salute space is now available for purchase in the 2024 Wayland Union High School Yearbook! Senior salutes are spaces for parents, grandparents and friends to congratulate, honor and recognize their senior with a baby or childhood photo and text.

Senior salute sizes are ⅛ of a page and are available in color or black and white. Pictures need to be submitted as jpeg and text is limited to 30 words. Cost $20 per Senior Salute.

Checks payable to Wayland Union Schools and can be delivered to Mrs. Denhof in room B216 or mailed to Wayland Union High School, Attn: Yearbook, 870 East Superior Street, Wayland, MI 49348. Email text and jpeg picture to yearbook@waylandunion.org by Monday, January 27, 2025!
