The Coyote Creek Scurry is Almost Here
The Coyote Creek Scurry is almost here! This is our annual Fun Run and is also our largest fundraiser of the year! We are asking each student to set a fundraising goal of $100 so that we can reach our school goal of $47,000. We will be using the funds raised for field trip opportunities, classroom furniture, and playground enhancements! Family and friends can support the school by giving flat donations or donating per lap that your student completes on Run Day - which will be Wednesday, September 11th! Save the Date if you'd like to cheer your student on!
Run Day Schedule - September 11th:
8:45-9:15 4th and 5th grades
9:20-9:50 Kindie and 2nd grades
9:55-10:25 1st and 3rd grades
10:30-11 6th grades
Students in K-5th grades will be attending an assembly with more information next Wednesday August 28th, and flyers with more details will go out in backpacks that day - so keep an eye out for that information. Our fundraising website will go live that day. Students will have the chance to win fun prizes based on their donations --- like a Foam Party on Run Day, a turn in the giant Hamster Wheel, or a giant stuffed animal classroom mascot!
Interested in Volunteering? We need parents to help give out bracelets to the kids to count their laps, and hand out popsicles afterwards. Sign up here for a shift: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B48A5A62DA64-50801494-2024#/

Library News
Dear Families,
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: September 16th - 19th
Location: CCE Library
There’s even more info on our school’s Book Fair homepage:
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/coyotecreekelemsch2
While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.
When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called
Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books
from the Fair.
Many of us still remember the rush of finding the perfect book at a Scholastic Book Fair. I hope you’ll join your child at our school’s Fair and share a reading experience they’ll remember forever.
Happy reading,
Amy Rahne
Principal
Coyote Creek Elementary
PS: Need one more reason to visit the Book Fair? Every purchase at the Fair benefits our school!
