From the Superintendent
June 14, 2024
Dear Families, Staff, and Community Members,
In the flurry of our final few days of school, there was a LOT happening Districtwide. Huge shout out to our educators and parents for supporting students as they:
Graduated! Congratulations to our Washburne Class of 2024!
Concluded project based learning activities (i.e. Immigration Day at Hubbard Woods, tending to newly-hatched chicks in Kindergarten at Greeley, and an art initiative at The Skokie School benefitting Orphans of the Storm)
Presented final band, choral and orchestra concerts, as well as an incredible Broadway revue (way to go, Washburne students and teachers!)
Enjoyed Field Day fun at all campuses
Celebrated time-honored traditions and farewell festivities (i.e. Crows on Parade at Crow Island, 4th grade parties, a lively 6th grade sendoff and an epic graduation party at Washburne thanks to the PTO)
Simultaneous to many end-of-the-year events and responsibilities, teachers packed their classrooms in preparation for massive construction projects happening Districtwide this summer. We appreciate all of our staff and families for making these hot, busy last days of 23/24 so very memorable for our students.
Enjoy this short video message as a farewell to the school year.
Wishing you a fabulous, restful, and rejuvenating summer!
Most Sincerely,
Dr. Kelly Tess, Superintendent of Schools
