Oratory Contest
Congratulations to Connor Park for being selected as one of the three winners of the high school oratory contest organized through ACSA (Association of California School Administrators) Region XV. The theme was "Make Your Mark" and Conner provided a speech that incorporated his life experience highlighting patience, persistence, and process. He won a $1,000 scholarship and will now deliver his speech at the annual ACSA Region XV Banquet and Awards. Great Job Conner!

Newport Aquatic Center Field Trip
Science teachers Andrew Mesdjian, Teffany Rivas, and Julie Chiang took students from Biology, Chemistry, and AP Biology classes to the Newport Aquatic Center, where they learned much about the local estuaries and wildlife. We rowed boats out into the bay to visit migratory birds and view geological changes; afterward, we took a docent-led walk around the riparian uplands and observed the impact of human activities on nature.
