REFLECTIONS
Reflections- All Entries due Tuesday, October 22nd
“Accepting Imperfection”
The 2024-25 Reflections program theme was selected from student entries nationwide. Paige Opaska, an 8th grader from Barbara Bush Middle School PTA in San Antonio, Texas, submitted the winning theme. Paige says, "'Accepting Imperfection' is a reminder to myself that mistakes are welcome because they are a part of being human. Our flaws are as much a part of us as our strengths, so being imperfect should be perfect enough for us."
The Reflections Art Program has brought the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. California State PTA and its members and families are at the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education.
Reflections encourages students of all ages to:
Unleash creative talents and be inspired
Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
Experience the fun and joy of making art
Tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES IN NEED
SEPTEMBER
Meals for September
The Dinner Site Calendar is linked here. Meals are available to all families in need. Samaritan Center also serves breakfast and lunch. Families can also use the showers but need to meet with a caseworker at Samaritan Center to set this up.
Food Pantries
Samaritan Center and Still Waters Cafe continue to serve as our local food pantries. There is also a food pantry in Moorpark, held at Moorpark College on Tuesdays from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. More information can be found here.
Food Share App
This app allows families to locate the nearest food pantry or dinner site that is currently open. It is location-based and provides real-time information.
Digital Mental/Behavioral Health Resources
The state has released two new apps for families and children:
For children 0-12: BrightLife Kids - A CalHope Program by Brightline
