Educator to You
Happy November!
I love this time of year. To me, the beginning of November marks the beginning of the togetherness and reflection during the holidays. My favorite part of Thanksgiving weekend is eating great food with family, then shopping for the perfect gifts for the holidays. I also find now is the time I start to think ahead and plan for the future. Speaking of planning, we have a great line up of Extension programming and workshops coming up, including land rent, private pesticide training and a dairy series. Plan to attend one or more of these events!
Remember, Extension resources are available all year long. If you have any questions relating to agriculture, natural resources or horticulture, or if you have ideas for programming, feel free to reach out!
Best wishes
- Samantha

Fertilizing Corn in Minnesota
In Minnesota, corn is grown on more acres than any other crop. Nationally, Minnesota ranks among the top five states in corn production. Average corn yields have improved steadily over the past several decades.
While general fertilizer use contributed substantially to yield increases in the past, total fertilizer management which optimizes nutrient efficiency will be needed to increase future production and profitability.
