Independent Study Contract
Independent Study Contract
Please remember to call or office or stop by to complete the Independent Study Contract if your student(s) will be missing school for more that 5 days. We require at least two weeks notice. The contract must be pre-approved by administration. Teachers require time to gather the independent study materials. Without the Independent Study Contract in place, your student's absences will be marked UNEXCUSED. When a request for an Independent Study Contract is submitted too late, it will not be approved.
Please plan ahead and remember that attendance is important! When your student misses school, they miss out on learning! Consider postponing vacation plans until after December 20th. Thank you!
OUSD Chain of Communication
OUSD Chain of Communication
We know there are times when issues come up that need to be resolved. OUSD has created a chain of communication that allows for an efficient resolution process. This is now located on our school’s website under “Our School” called Chain of Communication
We encourage you to speak with your child's teacher first when there are any concerns and if unresolved, our administrators are happy to help.

Wellness Policy and Outside School Food
Wellness Policy and Outside School Food
As part of our mission to keep students healthy, we ask that all caregivers please refer to OUSD's Wellness Policy. Any food served to students during the school day will be served from the school's nutrition services.
We know that families love to celebrate parties at school, however, we want to encourage families to bring non-food items such as pencils, stickers, cards and other fun items to celebrate with their classmates. Foods high in sugar are not healthy for growing children.
Do you want to celebrate with a pizza party at school for FREE? Please let your child's teacher know and our nutrition department can help. Please use this form or obtain it from the front office. Both teacher and principal approval are required.
Teachers will also share this information with all families as part of their communication.
Thank you!

OUSD messages families using a platform called Blackboard Communications. This allows teachers and staff to send an email, text or voice message directly to the email address or phone number you have listed in Aeries. It’s important that all the adults in your student’s life have updated contact information in Aeries so everyone can receive important messages from your student’s school.
You no longer need to download any third party apps to receive messages from OUSD. The only district supported app that families should download is the OUSD app.Check your email or spam folder.
