Course Guide for 2025-2026 Now Available Online
The 2025-2026 course guide is now available online. It can be found on our website here.
Counselors will be starting to go into 9th-11th grade English classes to go over important points of scheduling at the beginning of February. Look for this presentation in upcoming communication so you can better talk to your child about choosing appropriate classes.
After February course registration, schedule changes will only be allowed for the following circumstances:
- Student is missing the prerequisite for the course.
- Student has been approved for the Early College Credit Program or Dual Enrollment.
- Student earns the credit over the summer and no longer needs the course.
- Student did not pass the 2nd term of a two-year term course.
- Student has a study hall and wants to enroll in a class.
- Senior is missing a graduation credit.
- Student needs to a level change.
By finalizing our scheduling earlier in the summer than has been done in the past, we will be able to make staffing decisions and balance classes more appropriately for students.

Semester 2 Schedule Changes
**Changes to student schedules impact many other factors and, therefore, will only be made on a limited basis.**
When to Request a Schedule Change for Semester 2: The time period to request a Semester 2 schedule change is Monday January 13th - Friday January 31st. Counselors will not be making any Semester 2 schedule changes prior to January 13th.
Requesting a Schedule Change: Please note the following acceptable reasons for a schedule change before you fill out the schedule change request form. Schedule changes will only be approved for reasons listed below:
Acceptable Reasons to Request a Schedule Change:
1. Student has been approved for the any of these 3 programs:
- Early College Credit Program (Click Here)
- Start College Now Program (Click Here)
- Youth Apprenticeship (Click Here)
2. Student earned the credit over the summer/through credit recovery and no longer needs the course
3. Student would like to add or remove a study hall. Student must maintain a minimum of 6.5 credits.
4. Senior is missing a graduation credit
5. Student would like to change levels of a course
6. Student has medical documentation supporting a change in schedule (submit this documentation to the appropriate counselor)
My request falls into an acceptable reason to request a change - now what?
Step 1: Print and complete a schedule change request form, which can be found on the Counseling Website. Hard copies of the form are available in the counseling office if you are unable to print.
Step 2: Submit your completed request form to your assigned school counselor between the dates of Monday, January 13th - Friday, January 31st. Counselors are available for appointments during those dates to discuss schedule changes. All forms must have a parent signature prior to any changes being made.
School Calendar Change - PreACT Testing for Freshmen and Sophomores
As part of our process of identifying ways to improve student achievement at Mukwonago High School, we are going to have all Grade 9 and Grade 10 PreACT Secure testing for the Wisconsin State Assessment System be conducted on a single day this spring. To facilitate this, juniors and seniors will not have school during the testing day. This would align with our assessment practices for the Statewide ACT date in March each year and provide our freshmen and sophomores with a better testing environment, smaller testing groups, and encourage better effort during testing.
The Pre ACT testing date will be Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Seniors and Parents of the Class of 2025:
Welcome back! As we head into the second semester of senior year, it is a great time to continue applying for scholarships. MHS’s Local Scholarship Awards Program has been a unique institution to the Mukwonago High School Community for over twenty years. This scholarship application is available to any Mukwonago High School senior from the graduating class of 2025, who is pursuing some type of post-secondary education (4-year university or college, technical college, specialty schools, etc.). By filling out one application, seniors are eligible to access over 30 different scholarship opportunities. This is a wonderful opportunity for any senior planning to pursue continued education after High School.
The local scholarship application opens on Friday, January 3rd, 2025. The deadline for the application to be completed is Friday, February 21st at 3:15 PM. The MHS Local Scholarship Application can be accessed HERE, or at any time on the MHS Scholarship Page HERE.
Additionally, there are many wonderful outside scholarship opportunities posted to the MHS Scholarship Website. Please encourage your Senior to review this site for new opportunities on a regular basis!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristin Koepke (Scholarship Coordinator) and the MHS School Counseling Team
ACT Corner
MHS offers two opportunities for ACT prep classes beyond the general classroom. Students taking these ACT prep options have historically scored 2-3 points higher than students who do not take them.
Option 1: Students who would like to register for a course in lieu of their study hall during the second semester must contact their counselor as soon as possible to have their schedule adjusted. This class is free and will end on March 11th with the conclusion of the ACT. At that time, students will return to study hall.
Option 2: The other opportunity is a paid option through Wisconsin Test Prep. The class occurs either Wednesdays from 7-9 PM or Saturdays from 10-Noon. Registration must be completed as soon as possible at WisconsinTestPrep.com as classes begin on January 15th. The cost of this option is $175.
