Welcome to the 24-25 School Year!
August 9, 2024
Mrs. Stokes' Notes
My name is Heidi Stokes and I am anxiously anticipating the coming school year. This will be my 16th year at Chapman and my second year as the principal here. I hope that you all have had a wonderful and rejuvenating Summer. The sunshine has been much needed and I spent as much time outdoors as possible.
Now that August is here, school is fast approaching. We are working hard to make sure that everything is ready to go on August 21st, when students return. Please help us prepare by making sure that your student is registered. New students and returning students need to be registered via an online portal found at https://kpbsd.org/students-parents/student-registration/ . You will have the option to click new student or returning student.
At Chapman, we rely on volunteers for many things. We also want parents to be able to come and participate in the happenings at school. All adults who volunteer, attend field trips, or attend activities in the classroom must have their volunteer screening completed prior to interacting with students in school functions. Please get this screening completed in a timely manner, as it does take time to process. Here is the link to screening process https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/volunteer/ . We prioritize student safety and we appreciate your willingness to complete this screening.
If you have questions about the upcoming school year or have paperwork to drop off, give Chapman a call or stop by during regular school hours (8:00-2:30). We are excited for all of our returning Chapman Eagles and look forward to meeting those who are joining our school community. I hope that you can attend our open house on August 20th from 5:00-6:00.
With Gratitude,
Mrs. Stokes

All Chapman volunteers and visitors to classrooms, the lunchroom, etc. must have a volunteer screening completed. If you plan on volunteering for clubs or sports as an assistant coach or parent helper, you must also have training on concussion and sudden cardiac arrest. Trainings are linked below. You do not need a screening completed to attend Chapman sponsored events such as award's assemblies, parent teacher conferences and family activities.
