Campus Deliveries
- Parents may drop off lunch for their child only. Lunches will be placed in a bin on the stage. Please tell your child in advance that you are delivering lunch so they know to look for it.
- Parents may not drop off food for other students. For example: large pizzas, large bags of food, sheet cake, etc. Food will be held until the end of the school day.
- We do not accept Door Dash, Uber Eats or other Food Delivery services. Any food delivered in this manner will be held until the end of the school day.

RLA Renaissance Star Reading Assessment
Your student will participate in the Renaissance Star Reading screener this year. This assessment is computer-adaptive and created to assist teachers to quickly identify areas of strengths and growth for students in reading. With this tool, teachers will be able to more specifically target their instruction to ensure student growth for each individual student.
This assessment will not be taken for a grade as it is strictly a tool to provide teachers with data to inform instruction. The screener will take the students approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your RLA teacher.

Ordering a Replacement ID
Students must wear their ID at all times. Students who do not have their ID during the school day will be given a temporary ID.
If your student loses their ID, they can come to the library to purchase a new ID. The $3 charge will be applied to their account and the parent will receive an email with the link to pay.
If your student realizes they have lost their ID while at home, we have developed a process for the parent to request a new ID via email for pickup the next day.
1. Send email to this email address: ID-SLJH@katyisd.org
2. YOU MUST include a copy of your photo ID in the email request. If you do not provide a picture of your photo ID, your request will be deleted and you will need to resubmit.
3. Once we receive your email, we will assign the $3 fee to your student through Pay N Go and your student can pick up the replacement ID in the library.
4. You will receive an email with instructions for making the payment on Pay N Go.
Book Fair Opt-In
Curating a love of reading is important to educators and families in Katy ISD. Campuses host book fairs to encourage the love of reading and build excitement around literacy. It is important for parents to assist their child in selecting books that garner student interest and engagement in reading. Participation in the book fair is voluntary, and parents must opt in students to purchase books and other items included in the book fair. Parents may log in to MyKaty Cloud to access the authorization tile to allow participation in Book Fairs.

Teachers will be doing organization/study skills lessons with students during the first six weeks.
*If you have a 7th or 8th grade student that would like to use this folder for organization, please have them stop by their grade level AP office to pick one up.

Car Rider Drop Off
- Pull all the way forward to the stop sign. Do not stop until you have pulled all the way forward.
- The line is double stacked until you curve into the lane directly in front of the school and then it is single stacked.
- Do not let your student off on the street. This is unsafe and impedes the regular flow of the drop off line.

Bus Routes & Smart Tag Tracking App
Parents of Bus Riders: If your student is a bus rider, look for the white route number on the side of the bus when tracking their bus this school year! And make sure to download the Smart tag™ app from your mobile Google Play Store or Apple App Store! The Smart Tag app allows parents to set their preferred notifications, including when their child’s bus is expected to arrive. You can also see when and where your student boards and exits the bus.

Updates from Nurse Jenkins
Medical Accommodations for 2024-2025
All medical accommodations for school require a Doctor's Note to be turned into the clinic each school year. Rolling Backpacks are not permitted at Seven Lakes Junior High due to the large number of students in the hallway. The only exceptions are for those with orthopedic needs verified by a specialist doctor's note yearly. If you have any questions, please email Nurse Jennie at jenniferajenkins@katyisd.org
Medications
Students are not allowed to carry any medication at school. Cough drops are considered medication and may not be carried at school. Peppermints are a good substitute for cough drops if your student needs something to help during the school day. EpiPens and inhalers may be carried but ONLY with proper paperwork turned into the clinic first filled out by a physician. Please email or call the clinic if you have any medication administration questions. Please do not send medication with your child to drop off in the clinic without the proper Katy ISD paperwork filled out by a parent AND physician. Katy ISD medication paperwork can be picked up in the clinic or requested by email from Nurse Jennie.
If your child forgot to take their medication at home or needs another dose during the school day, PARENTS (only) are able to medicate their child in the front office during the school day. Please bring a valid photo ID and water if needed to do so. The student will take the medication in the office and the parent will need to take home any extra medication. Students may not carry any medication with them.
6th Grade Parents: Eleven-Year-Old Immunizations
Please turn in a copy of your child's eleven-year-old immunizations (TDAP and Meningitis) to jenniferajenkins@katyisd.org to clear your child's TDAP and Meningitis immunization requirements. These immunizations are due before 7th grade and need to be turned in as soon as possible. These are the last state required immunizations that must be turned into Katy ISD. If you need a place for your child to receive these immunizations, please see the Katy ISD Immunization Clinic dates below.
Seven Lakes Ladies
Please keep monthly supplies refilled in your child's backpack as well as an extra pair of leggings and underwear. Surprises happen all the time and most of our students do not want to change into dress code pants. Extra feminine supplies are available in the clinic. If your child is coming too frequently for supplies a parent will be notified as our supplies are limited.
