March 5, 2024
Dear Cirby Families,
As we bid farewell to the winter chill and eagerly embrace the budding warmth of spring, I'm excited to welcome the month of March that brings the sense of accomplishment and continued hard work with successes.
I am proud to acknowledge the dedication of our students and educators. March marks a crucial point in the academic calendar as we approach our third trimester. I encourage students to stay focused, seek support when needed, and continue to strive for excellence in their studies. Parents, your ongoing support plays a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment at home.
As we navigate through the final stretch of the school year, let us continue to work together to create a nurturing and enriching environment for our students. Thank you for your ongoing support, and here's to a fantastic month of March!
PLEASE CHECK OUT THE LOST AND FOUND. IT'S OVERFLOWING.
Warmly,
Farah Friend | Principal

Staff Spotlight ๐ฆ
Hello my fellow Cirby families! I am Mrs. Willis, and I've taught 5th grade for 20 years here at Cirby. This year, I am in a supportive role for Math and behavior as TOSA. I have a 1st grader at Cirby and a soon-to-be Kindergartner. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and being outdoors. Some of my hobbies are volleyball, photography, organizing, and watching Disney movies with my kids. I am proud to be a Cirby eagle and so excited my own kids get to be part of such an awesome school.
Girls On The Run, Grades 3-4-5
Girls on the Run is back at Cirby Elementary and registration for Spring 2024 is open! Please register today for another season of fun and exciting girl empowerment program!
The spring season will feature:
- New curriculum โHello Superstar!โ which makes every participant have a whole new experience this season!
- Using the same format as previous Girls on the Run curriculum, Hello, Superstar! places stronger emphasis on helping girls love and embrace their uniqueness. In just the past two years, both the CDC and U.S. Surgeon General reported depression and anxiety are at an all-time high for young people, especially girls. In response, weโve designed new lessons to help participants manage big emotions, build relationships, and ensure all teammates feel like they belong.
- 10 week long program where girls make connection to friends and coaches.
- All team 5K on May 19th at Inderkum High School where all participants are invited to comes and runs the 5K together and celebrate their accomplishments.
- 5K entry, T-shirt, and water bottle are included in the program registration.
If you need financial assistance to participate, scholarships are available for you. Please use โGOTR30โ to only pay $30 at checkout.
PTC Corner
Join us next Friday for our Family BINGO night in the MPR! See flyer below.
Please use this link to RSVP.
PBIS Corner
Cirby School prides itself on our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) system. We wanted to start this PBIS Corner in the newsletter so you get a better understanding about what it is, how we use it, and give you an opportunity to see how itโs working.
We have been earning those blue tickets all around school. We are now collecting all blue tickets in our big tower. Once we fill it up, the whole school will get a reward. Can't wait!
We just had our 2nd trimester reward for those students with less than 3 ODRs. ODR stands for Office Disciplinary Referral. Those students following the expectations for the whole 2nd trimester got a chance to watch a movie. Way to go!
