Field Day was a Success! Thank you!
Hello Students and Families!
Thank you parents for helping make our Field Day a Success! We could not have run all the stations without your help! Thank you for giving your time to support our students!
Thank you to our PTA who funded many of the materials needed for field day. A big shout out to our PTA board who helped to recruit all of our parent volunteers!
Thank you to Mr. Folley, PE teacher, who planned all the activities for field day! Thank you to Patterson staff that helped ensure the day went smoothly!
Lastly, thank you to our students who really demonstrated what it meant to be a Patterson Champion today! The students had fun, cheered each other on, and helped when others needed it! Because students worked so hard at being safe, respectful, and responsible, every class earned a golden pillar!
I hope to see you at our first PTA meeting on Monday, Sept. 9th at 9:30am. If you can't make it in person, you can join us via Google Meets at: https://meet.google.com/ffy-eheo-yja

Meet Nurse Amanda!
My name is Amanda Grutzius and go by nurse Amanda while at school. I am 39 years old, and I have been a nurse for 8 years. 6 years, in which I have worked in pediatrics. Working with kids is my niche in nursing. I absolutely love what I do and couldn't ask for a more fulfilling job for myself. I am very outgoing, adventurous and definitely have a sense of humor. Who doesn't like a good dad joke? I have 2 amazing kids, Jaxon (7) and Raelyn (5). They keep me young and spry. For 9 weeks over the summer, the kids I spent it at a summer camp in Colorado on a mountain. I was the camp nurse, and the kids lived their best life and grew so much from this experience. We are truly lucky. I have an open-door policy, so please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or just simply a good dad joke.
What do you call a grandma on speed dial?

Reminder regarding Cell Phones and Smartwatches
Per the district parent/student handbook, please remind your child of the rules regarding cell phones and smartwatches.
All electronic devices must be kept powered-off or silenced and out-of-sight during the regular school day unless: (a) the supervising teacher grants permission; (b) use of the device is provided in a student’s individualized education program (IEP); (c) it is used during the student’s lunch period, or (d) it is needed in an emergency that threatens the safety of students, staff, or other individuals.
We appreciate your support in helping us priortize learning and instruction during the school day. Please note that in elementary school, we do not allow use of electronic devices during lunch.
In order to cultivate an equitable community, it is key that your student and your family feel welcome, appreciated, and respected. We would greatly appreciate if you took time to complete this survey so the school and PTA can work together in creating an inclusive environment.

Patterson Chorus Information
Chorus is open to all students in fourth and fifth grade. We are hoping for an excellent turnout this year!! Chorus is the perfect option for any student considering a performance ensemble in middle or high school (band, orchestra, or chorus). Essential skills such as music literacy, ear training, ensemble balance, expression, diction, communication, and creative problem solving are primary focuses. These skills will well prepare your children for future performance experiences.
Chorus will rehearse in the Gym every MONDAY from 8:00-8:50 AM. Our first rehearsal is on MONDAY September 16. Drop-off is at the Front Car Drop-Off and then enter Door 2. Door 2 opens at 7:55, and closes at 8:05. Please do NOT drop off your child prior to this time as there will not be supervision. If your student arrives at 8:05 AM or later and Door #2 is closed, students should come to the front main doors to be buzzed in by office staff. Students are encouraged to carpool to rehearsals.
If your child is interested, please click the link below to sign up. Sign up Closes on Friday, Sept. 13th.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
The safety of our Patterson students, staff, and families is an upmost priority to our team. During meet and greet, each teacher will have a form for parents/guardians to notify your child's teacher and our office team how your child will be dismissed each day. Please make sure to complete this form when visiting your child's classroom.
Staff will be present at all entrances being used for arrival and dismissal to supervise students.
New this year:
- On the first day of school, your child will receive a backpack tag that is color coded by bus, car rider, walker, biker, or YMCA. Pleaase leave this tag on your child's backpack for the duration of the school year.
- Door 11 will be used for the dismissal of Kindergarten students only. Siblings that wish to "pick up" their kindergarten sibling will meet them outside Door 11.
Arrival Procedures:
- Students may enter the building through Doors 1,2,11 or by the back rike in the back of school at Door 9 and should NOT arrive before 8:50am or 9:05am on late start day.
