Weekly Bulletin

Good afternoon Parker Families:

We had a tremendous week at Parker Middle School. The students are starting to wrap up their final units as the school year winds down. We celebrated our June Pride raffle winners today. Madison Cappella, Lyra Cody-Little, John Cooper, Logan Decker, Leticia Dos Santos, Phillipa Nazziwa, Taleen Phan, and Colin Walsh were all recognized by a staff member for demonstrating PRIDE values. We are very proud of them!

6th Grade Field Trip and McCarthy Tours

Our sixth-grade students walked to McCarthy this week to take in an interactive presentation on Ancient Egypt followed by a school tour on Wednesday and Thursday. By all accounts the presentation was phenomenal, and the kids loved seeing their school for next year and hearing about 7th grade from McCarthy student PRIDE reps. Half of our students were able to enjoy some beautiful spring rain on Thursday along the way!

Byam and Harrington Move Up Day

We were excited to host the fourth-grade students from Byam and Harrington today . The students were able to meet with 5th grade teachers, take a tour, ask questions of our Student Council Reps, and meet all the staff that will be here to support them next year. We met some phenomenal kids and can't wait to have them next September!

Newhouse Wildlife Rescue Assembly

Our sixth grade will be walking to CHS for a presentation by Newhouse Wildlife Rescue which is based here in Chelmsford. The professionals at Newhouse, led by Jane Newhouse, presented to our fifth-grade last month and it was truly educational and amazed the kids. The sixth grade will love the experience and learn a great deal at the same time.

Field Day

We are excited to run our Field Day on Friday June 7. We want to thank all the parent volunteers as we could not run this awesome day without them! It will be a fun filled day with games, friendly competition, and camaraderie.

THE LAST DAY FOR CLUBS & ACTIVITIES AND LATE BUSES was THURSDAY, MAY 23rd. DISMISSAL IS AT 2:40 p.m. Please take note. ~ Thank you.

The lost and found racks are filled again with sweatshirts, water bottles, lunch boxes, and lots more. Please have your student check lost and found for any missing items. Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the school year.

Parker PTO Update:

📅 Thinking of getting more involved? Attending a PTO meeting is a great way to start! Come join the conversation about enrichment, fundraising and more at the Parker & McCarthy PTO meeting Monday, June 10th @ 5:30 in the McCarthy library. All are welcome to attend. Board positions are available for the 2024/2025 school year.

🏈 Parker & McCarthy families are invited to cool off from the summer heat on Saturday, June 15th @ 7:05 PM, to watch Massachusetts Pirates vs. San Antonio Gunslingers at Tsongas Center at UML. Please Send Email: Prior to 9am on the day of the absence. Please Include: Child’s name, Grade, and Reason for absence. We encourage you to use the email option when reporting an absence, dismissal, etc. for efficiency.

We will continue to send automated emails home when students are absent. You will receive the email whether you notified the school or not. In order for an absence to be marked as "Excused", families will need to provide medical documentation.
