OCTOBER 4, 2024
From Mr. Sachtleben's Desk...
The end of the 1st quarter is quickly approaching. The students have two weeks left in this grading period. All of them will be encouraged to be sure they have all work completed and are up-to-date with their learning. I also encourage parents to access their Infinite Campus portal to check on your child's academic standing for each class.
When looking at your child's grades,"Q1 END" should be their current, in progress grade. If you have any questions concerning your child's grades, please do not hesitate to reach out to those individual teachers.
Our Parent-Teacher conference nights are starting next week. These dates are October 10 and October 16. Please note that our Team Leaders have been working to schedule conferences in a purposeful manner. However, if you would like to know your child's progress, you can reach out to the Team Leader of your child's Team.
Have a great weekend!

Athletics - Fall Sports Recap
This week marked the final week of the regular season for our Fall sports programs! This year was filled with many successes on and off the field. We could not be more proud of our student athletes, coaches and parents for all of the time and effort put into this season! On to Winter sports!
Here are the highlights:
Girls Tennis finished their season with an impressive 13-3 record. They swept the other four middle schools in Dublin in the regular season! They will have their final tournament on Sunday, October 5th at Coffman High School. Good luck ladies and bring the Dublin Classic Trophy home!
Our 8th grade football team finished with a 1-5-1 record this year. These boys were determined from the word "GO" in June. They have grown and matured into the leaders we want to see here at Sells!
Our 7th grade football team finished with a 1-6 record. These young men did some serious growing and learning this season. By the end of the season they worked together and held each other accountable to be the best they could be.
Our 8th grade Volleyball team ended their season last night after a tough loss to Davis in the Dublin Volleyball Tournament. These young ladies have improved so much in their time at Sells. They were playing their best volleyball as a TEAM to finish out their Sells career.
Our 7th grade volleyball still has a few games to go as they will travel to Beulah park in Grove City on Saturday to play in their postseason tournament. This year they learned the fundamentals of the sport and I am excited to see them back on the court next season!
Our Cross Country team saw MANY personal records made this year. The team was highlighted by 7th grader Daviya Webb who performed at a high level all season. She took 8th place in the Midwest Meet of Champions and led our girls to victory on many occasions. They Will compete in the Dublin Classic next week at karrer Middle School.
Our Cheerleaders were a small but very close squad. They have improved their skills IMMENSELY this season including developing and implementing new cheers, stunts and crowd participation cheers at our games. I'm excited to see what Basketball Cheer and Competition Cheer have in store for the future!
Our District Girls Golf Team continued their excellence finishing their season UNDEFEATED!!!! They are one the strongest teams in the whole state and will play in the Central Ohio Golf Championship to finish their season. Defend your title ladies!!!
I want to take a minute to thank all of the parents, volunteers, coaches and administration that made this season a great one. We are off to a great start this school year and the future looks bright for Sells Athletics!
GO ROCKS!!!!!

Fall MAP Student Data (Elementary & Middle Schools Only)
The MAP assessments give us the ability to measure student achievement and academic growth across time. Students participate in the MAP Reading and MAP Math assessments during designated benchmark windows throughout the year (Reading: Grades 2-8, Math: Grades 1-8). The MAP 2-5 and MAP 6+ assessments allow us to identify students as gifted in the areas of math and/or reading. MAP scores in the 95th-99th percentile meet the Ohio Department of Education requirements for gifted identification. Students scoring in the range for a gifted identification on the MAP assessment will be supported in their regular classroom setting through high-quality, differentiated instruction. MAP results are now visible to parents in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Please follow the steps below to find your child's Fall MAP results. Additional information about MAP can be found here.
