Principal's Message
I arrive to Imagine as a seasoned educator with 26 years of experience both in charter and public education. I have taught in a number of communities throughout California and for the last 14 years I have served as a high school and middle school administrator. My conversations with Imagine staff and families over the last few weeks have brought me a number of insights into the core beliefs and values that underlie Imagine Schools. I believe strongly in the 3 ideals the school is founded upon: Justice, Integrity, and Fun. With my goal of continuing the tradition of excellence here at ISRC. I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. We will be meeting with parents, students, and as a staff throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school climate, and parent communication. The first effort to improve communications is this newsletter which will be sent to parents regularly though out the year. It will serve as another place parents can get important information about the school, view upcoming events, and see pictures of ISRC in action.
My office is always open to parents who have concerns, questions or ideas. Feel free to reach out to me via email at jason.fowler@imagineschools.org or call the school at (760) 391-9200 to make an appointment.
Warmest Regards,

A message from Dr. Jiminez
Dear Students and Families,
I have been selected to help Imagine Schools open another wonderful school like our Coachella campus. As you know, we already have a school in Hemet and we plan to work on opening another dual immersion program in Imperial Valley. There is a lot of work to be done and I won’t be in the school to see you all on a daily basis. My colleague and friend, Dr. Fowler, will be your new principal. He comes to our school with a lot of experience in education and I know he will enhance the amazing programs we have established. Our great teachers and staff will continue the momentum and growth we have made as a school.

Congratulations to our Imagine Schools Riverside Teacher of the Year
"My journey at Imagine Schools began in 2015-2016 school year. I’ve taught kindergarten and first grade. I am a mother of 3 boys ages 21, 17 and 10 years old. I love teaching dual immersion because English is my second language and helping kids learn both languages is rewarding and enjoyable. Being bilingual creates more opportunities for students’ future.
I love the community, parents, teacher, students, and staff. Everyone is supportive and hard working. It is pleasure being part of the Imagine Schools team."
The Imagine Schools Teacher of the Year program is an organization wide initiative to honor the very best teachers at each Imagine school site. Nominees for Teacher of the Year must have a clear credential, must be Mrs. Marquez will now advance to compete against other school teachers of the year for the regional and national teacher of the year program. Teacher's of the year are selected by their peers.
Our runners-up this year, and awesome teachers in their own right are:
Ms. Xitlalic Morales, currently the 6th grade Math and English Language Arts teacher. She has been teaching at Imagine Schools for four years. Ms. Morales believes the best part of teaching revolves around creating meaningful relationships with her students that helps to foster a learning environment that encourages intellectual and personal growth. Her ultimate goal is to inspire students to become lifelong learners and to become the best version of themselves.
Ms. Yesica Velasquez, a 5th grade teacher at Imagine Riverside. Ms. Velasquez loves her students. She feels that its important to get to know all the students and their families. Ms. Velasquez someday would like to go into a Ph.D. program and become a school administrator.
Counselor's Corner
I am Ms. Quintero
My name Alejandra Quintero and I am the School Counselor at Imagine Schools, Riverside in Coachella. I am so excited and honored to have joined the Imagine family last year. I am committed to encouraging, supporting and empowering our students to become their best selves. My primary task is to help ALL students become better learners by providing a comprehensive and developmental counseling program that meets their academic, personal/social, and career development needs.
I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom presentations, collaborating and working as a team with parents and staff to benefit the students. I speak a language of hope and respect, empathy, curiosity, creativity, and patience when working with students.
Support provided can be therapeutic, but the role of a school counselor is not to diagnose or provide therapy. I am able to provide temporary/short-term support to help students overcome acute issues having an impact on their school performance. I am a resource similar to the school nurse in that she can provide help, but refers out for more serious problems. Licensed mental health counselors are the appropriate resource to provide ongoing therapy sometimes needed by families and children. I am happy to provide a list of outside agencies and licensed mental health counselors, if you ever need them.
As the counselor, I have the privilege of providing support to every student at Imagine. Confidentiality is respected, unless they plan on hurting themselves, hurting someone else, or someone is hurting them. Although I do not require parent consent, if you would like to request I meet with your child for a specific concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
I am thrilled to be here and provide support to your childrenMental Health Resources
