BES Celebrated Our Kids Heart Challenge Success!
This week, we celebrated the incredible fundraising efforts of our students for the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge! The highest fundraiser from each grade level, along with a lucky student chosen from the class with the most registrations, had the chance to "pie" Mrs. Lillard in the face! It was a hilarious and heartwarming way to acknowledge their dedication to raising money for such an important cause.
Special recognition goes to 1st grader Caden Bailey, our top fundraiser overall, who got to be the PE Teacher of the Day! Caden's leadership and creativity made sure the class had a fun and active experience. Chosen from Mrs. King's class, who had the most registered students, Kindergarten superstar Elliot Rawlins also brought his energy and enthusiasm to the PE activities. We're incredibly proud of these student leaders for promoting health and making a positive impact!
Calling all young readers! The Spring Reading Challenge is blooming from March 11th to April 30th! Whether you're in Kindergarten or 5th grade, there's a chance to quench your thirst for knowledge and earn a refreshing reward. Head over to the BES eclass page and the Beanstack link to register.
Kindergarten through 2nd grade readers can dive into 280 minutes of reading adventures, while 3rd through 5th graders can conquer 510 minutes. Remember, you can only log up to 60 minutes a night.
Got questions? Don't hesitate to ask Mrs. Reynolds, our Media Specialist at karleen.reynolds@gcpsk12.org. Happy reading!
Digital Learning Day is Friday, March 15th
Our next Digital Learning Day is approaching for ALL students on Friday, March 15th. We are grateful for the opportunity to have this day to allow teachers to plan future lessons for students.
On Digital Learning Days, students can find all their lessons and assignments on eCLASS. There is no live instruction, but teachers will be checking email periodically throughout the day for any questions you may send.
Meals will be delivered along all bus routes between 10:45 am and 12:00 pm on March 15th. Students aged 18 and below can go to the bus stop to receive a meal.
Student Devices for Digital Learning Day
Each student has a Chromebook assigned to them for work during the school day. Brookwood Elementary will send home your child's assigned Chromebook on Thursday, March 14th to complete assignments and access eCLASS. Your child must bring their Chromebook back to school on Monday, March 18th. If you don't want your child to bring home their Chromebook for the Digital Learning Day, please email your child's teacher by Wednesday, March 13th. Information about using your child's Chromebook at home can be found at the Parents' 1:1 website.
