Rancho School Update
~Front Office Entry
~School Site Video Entry System Guidance~
Dear Roadrunner Families,
The Temecula Valley Unified School District (TVUSD) is deeply committed to ensuring the safety and security of all students, staff, and visitors. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance school safety, we have successfully piloted a front door security entry system over the past year, allowing school staff to grant entry to visitors remotely. The pilot was very successful, and we are now expanding this safety protocol to all school campuses.
Starting with the new school year, the front doors of all campuses will be locked during school hours to prevent unauthorized access. Parents, guardians, and community members with school-related business will be able to enter the front office or reception area through a secure remote video access system located at the main entrance of each school. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, all visitors will be required to provide proof of identification before being granted entry. TVUSD remains committed to fostering a secure and welcoming environment where everyone can feel safe.
Procedures
The front entrance of the school will be unlocked during the morning drop-off period.
Once the bell rings, the front door is to be locked and remain locked for the duration of the day.
All visitors are required to use the video entrance system to gain access to the campus during the school day, except as noted in communications for special events.
Office staff will greet the visitor over the video system and welcome them to the campus.
All visitors should introduce themselves and declare their purpose for visiting the campus.
If an unknown visitor seeks entrance to the campus, the staff member ask to see the visitor's photo ID.
If the staff member is unsure if the visitor should be admitted, they should ask the visitor to wait for a minute and contact an administrator for a determination on access.
The front door is to be monitored for access until close of the business day.
The video entry system DOES NOT take the place of the Raptor system. Visitors going through the office and onto campus must still check in using the Raptor system.
Thank you for staying up to date with school safety.
As a reminder, if picking up students early from school, students remain in their classroom prior to your arrival. Please allow time to check into the office and for the office team to check and confirm identification and time for us to locate your child on campus. Students will be receiving intervention and enrichment support starting at 2:30pm and it's important that students remain for the full school day.
Thank you,
JoeAnna Hernandez, Principal
