College/Career Day with 5th Grade
Fifth grade had the pleasure of listening to various speakers share their career paths and current jobs during Glen Acres Annual College and Career Day on Friday, May 9th. Each student rotated with a group and heard three of the five speakers. Presenters included a K-9 Police Officer, Military Serviceman, Video Producer, Emergency Dispatcher, and an Entrepreneur. We are so grateful for each of the individuals who took time out of their schedules to talk to our students!
Your time, energy, and expertise made this event a truly fun and enriching learning experience for our students. We appreciate your dedication to inspiring the next generation!
Project Based Learning in Action
Want to learn more about some Glen Acres Elementary Faculty and Staff? The entire second grade collaborated with the library to interview staff members at Glen Acres. Students worked together to come up with questions tailored to their chosen interviewee. Our hope is that current and incoming families can learn more about the amazing adults that support students each day at Glen Acres! To see each interview, click on this link and scan the QR code. We are so proud of our students' work! Happy watching!
Third Grade Artifact Museum
Mrs. Virtue-Baer, Mrs. Barnett and Miss Pruitt and their students put together a spectacular display! Students in 3rd grade researched and wrote about an Ancient Civilization in the library. Then students created an artifact to represent their research.
