Transportation Trust will consider funding request for FY 25 annual street improvements.
City Council issues under development include recommendations from Transportation Trust; 50 year easement for work completed at Hall of Waters with Saving America's Treasures funds; establish dates for General Municipal Election; working on agreements with MARC for Household Hazardous Waste event; with DEP for ARPA funds (Wayfinding signage, electrical panels for festivals & events, Placer, ai); DEP partnership to seek funding for Community Change Grant to complete improvements (Dry Fork flood mitigation, downtown streetscape & Hall of Waters improvements); Golf Membership & Green Fees; Liquor License for The Springs; & Good Neighbor Award Presentation.

- Bids were opened for the Dry Fork Greenway project and are under review by MoDNR. Funding agency will considered bids before submitted for council approval
- Progress on RAISE project - Survey work is complete with topography & property lines; request to coordinate waterline replacement along Jesse James with street scape being planned; the fieldwork for environmental review is complete with minimal environmental impacts noted, selecting tree species & street furniture for streetscape specs; working to resolve access management plan along Jesse James commercial district.
- Approximately 20 people attended the old Hospital site charrette to provide ideas for future land uses; next step is for KSU students to provide design ideas for the uses selected
- Police Department made a significant drug bust last week
- The Hart Family expressed appreciation for first responders to the explosion on Schwartz. They shared that members of police and fire provided counsel, keep media at bay and have continued to provide support to ensure the family's needs were taken care of.
- Public Works completed the Lead Service Line Inventory that was required by EPA. Only 30% of public water supply operators complied with the mandate. For those who failed to comply, they will have to move to the next step assuming all lines are lead. In Excelsior Springs, EPA required letters be sent to 157 addresses that were found to have galvanized water lines, no lead lines were found. This was a form letter that will have to be sent 4 times over the next 13 years.
