Let's take time to celebrate!

A Message from Mrs. Booth...
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you! Our amazing community is growing, and we have new friends and families joining us. Starting in the 2024-25 school year, we will be welcoming third-grade ALPs classrooms to Silver Springs Elementary School.
The decision to bring the ALPs program to Silver Springs was made after careful consideration, data analysis, and input from parents. The Central Office Leadership Team, in consultation with the Board of Education, has determined that all incoming third-grade ALPs classrooms will be located here.
As the ALPs program continues to expand, we recognize the importance of long-term planning. To address this, we will establish a stakeholder committee. This committee will provide valuable input on strategies for potential future growth of the ALPs program. Look out for information on how you can get involved in this committee, which will be shared in September 2024.
Silver Springs is proud to be a Leader in Me Legacy School, where everyone belongs. We can’t wait to show our new friends from across the Northville Community what it means to be part of our inclusive and supportive school.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
Katie Booth

Silver Springs Enrollment Survey
We need your help! This is the time of the year when we begin to forecast how many children will attend our school for the next school year. The information we gather assists us in knowing how many classes and teachers to anticipate in each grade level. If you know a neighbor with school age children, please remind them to register their children at https://www.northvilleschools.org/apps/pages/Enroll .
We have created a Google Form that you can fill out online. Please click the link below to complete the survey.

Summer Hunger Food Drive
Summer can be a precarious time for kids dealing with food insecurity. One way we can help fight it is by stocking the shelves at Northville Civic Concern at a time when they are historically low on food.
Silver Springs will be participating in a food drive from Wednesday, May 22nd thru Wednesday, June 5th to help The Kids Table of Michigan collect food for Northville Civic Concern.
We will be collecting non-perishable, unexpired food, such as:
- canned vegetables,
- canned fruit, cereal,
- boxed side dishes,
- rice,
- pasta,
- oatmeal,
- peanut butter,
- crackers, etc.
- Really anything that has a shelf life will work.
Thank you so much for your help!

SIGNS FOR GRADUATING 5th GRADERS
The SS PTA says “congratulations!!” to the students rising from 5th grade to middle school soon!
To help celebrate, the PTA and Dad’s Club have partnered to create these special yard signs. We are delighted to announce that these are fully funded by PTA & Dad’s Club and every household of a Silver Springs 5th grader will receive one - at no cost to you!!
We hope all 5th grade families will enjoy proudly displaying this sign in your yard for the summer!
The signs are durable, corrugated board and are pre-assembled with metal spokes to stand in your front yard.
5th grade parents may pick up your student’s sign:
- by stopping in to the Silver Springs main office anytime 8:30am-4:00pm until Thursday, June 13, or
- when you attend the 5th grade end-of-the-year ceremony on Wednesday, June 12.
*Signs will not be sent home with students on school busses. The metal stakes would pose a safety hazard.
To reduce waste and cost, we’d greatly appreciate if families will return the signs to the Silver Springs main office:
- if you have a younger student attending back-to-school night on August 28, 2024 (date to be confirmed soon) or
- anytime during the first week of school in September 2024.
If you have any questions, please contact Jim Welch, PTA Dad’s Club, at Jim@amazetravel.com.

LEADER IN ME FOCUS FOR THE MONTH - HABIT 6 SYNERGIZE
Habit 6: Synergize
What this means: Working together is better. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
“I get along well with other people and work well in groups.”
“I value the strengths of others and allow myself to learn from them.”
“I know that working together as a team we can get more done and come up with better solutions than we could alone.”
“I seek out other people’s ideas to solve problems.”
How can I do this in my life?
With your children, choose a problem you may have (like curfew or completing tasks). Use the Synergy Action Plan to summarize your child's solution and your solution: (1) define the problem, (2) share your views, (3) think of solutions, (4) choose the best solution together. See if you can reach a better solution (The High Way) than either of you could come up with alone.
