It's a Good Day in Pre-K
What's Happening This Week:
Happy Holidays from Pre-K!
All of our sites celebrated different holidays and traditions. Below are some pictures from some of sites. We hope you all had a great holiday with your families.
S is for...Snow Angels!
Students in Mrs. Lavoo's classroom in Berlin made use of the snow to create snow angels. There are so many benefits of outdoor winter play. It promotes gross motor skill development, enhances sensory experiences and also creates great memories!
S is for... Santa!
Santa Claus made his way to Cairo to read and talk to the students about what they wanted for Christmas. They were excited that they all made the nice list in their pre-k classrooms.
S is for...Sing-a-long!
According to Buddy the Elf, βThe best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.β Our students at Ichabod Crane agreed, and they ended the month singing songs for their families.
π Our Schedule This Month
Classes are not in session on January, 20th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. While pre-schoolers aren't necessarily ready for civil rights, we still can talk to them about a core message, which is that every person should be treated fairly and with kindness. Attached, please find a site dedicated for activities and books specifically for pre-school students. https://kidscareclub.com/martin-luther-king-jr-day-for-preschoolers/#:~:text=1.,such%20as%20equality%20and%20justice.

The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats
One of my favorite books as a child, and an adult, is "The Snowy Day." I had the chance to read this to our students at Red Mill. It's a great read aloud especially during our winter months.
