Casino Night 2025
What a fantastic time we had at Casino Night last weekend! It was an incredible evening filled with fun, laughter, and a true sense of community as we came together to support our school cause.
A big thank you to everyone who volunteered their time—parents, staff, and supporters—your contributions made the event a success. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to our generous sponsors for their support. To everyone who attended, thank you for helping make this event so special! Your participation is what makes our school community stronger.
Athena Montessori Celebrates Women
March is Women’s History Month. At Athena we are celebrating all month long by weaving in a focus on women and women’s accomplishments the world over. We will listen to women-made music, we will read women authors, we will look at art made by women. We will talk about justice and what is fair and unfair.
What is the theme for Women’s History Month 2025?
This year's theme, designated by the National Women’s History Alliance, is, “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations.”
This theme celebrates the collective strength and influence of women who have dedicated their lives to education, mentorship, and leadership. Through their efforts, they have served as an inspiration for all generations — both past and present.
Throughout history, the process of information sharing has been a powerful catalyst for change. An honest, open examination of new insights and knowledge can create a framework for collaboration. This, in turn, promotes the well-being of groups, businesses, communities, and society as a whole. From classrooms to boardrooms, and from grassroots movements to global initiatives, women educators and leaders have played a pivotal role in nurturing minds and inspiring transformative action.
Our 2025 theme spotlights the contributions women have made to the American educational system, the free marketplace of ideas, and the very fabric of our democracy.

100th Day of School!
Early last month we celebrated the 100th day of school at Athena! The children were able to use math, crafts, books, and even pretend play, to celebrate the special number. Cheers to many more days of learning and exploring!

ADMISSIONS AND ENROLLMENT
Current Families
Sibling enrollment for next year is complete. If you have a child you're hoping to enroll and didn't hear from Joy, please reach out to her. It may be that we don't have an application on file for them.
If you know any families that would be a good addition to the Athena community, now is the time to connect them with Joy! Waiting pool enrollment is in full swing. Please direct them to Admissions@AthenaMontessoriAcademy.com.
Waiting Pool Families
Our Admissions Director will be in touch with you individually should a spot become available for your child throughout the current school year.
Enrollment for the 2025-26 school year is well underway. You will hear from Joy if she is able to offer your child a spot, as well as with updates as to where we are in the process. Our goal is to complete enrollment by the end of March, but it is not uncommon for rolling admissions to occur up to August.
Our continued goal in the admissions process is to be as transparent as possible, and we strive to give you the most accurate information we can during each step of the deliberate process of enrollment. We respect that decisions related to your child's education are important and timely ones, and we will continue to send you general enrollment updates via this monthly newsletter. Thank you for your continued interest, and we encourage you to reach out with specific questions related to your child's enrollment at any time.
Please direct admissions & enrollment questions to our Admissions Director, Joy Jacobson. You can email her directly at Admissions@AthenaMontessoriAcademy.com.

Many Athena families and team members have their name, a special message, or their child's signature engraved on a brick. What a way to commemorate your family's time at Athena. When our alumni come back to campus, they love to find their brick.
