PICTURES & NEWS
TRAVELERS 3RD GRADE & VOYAGERS 4TH GRADE TENNIS P.E.
Tennis instruction continued in the large gym with this group of students having their first lesson of the school year. As always, they practiced fundamental tennis skills through a series of challenges and games. Students were rapidly rotated through tasks in a way that kept them motivated and happy to be there.
TRIUMPH TENNIS
Here are five pictures of the students in a kind of knockout game. Students hit balls across the nets and if they missed landing their shot within bounds on the other side, or their ball was caught by people on the other side, they had to join the catching group. Eventually all the students ended up on the catching side. Definitely a fun game.
INCREDIBLES 5TH GRADE FRACTION GOLF
After the students had finished a math test, they had the option of playing a fraction game. They paired up and took turns rolling dice to derive fractions. Each students fractions had to be matched with ones listed on a "golf" scoring sheet. The student who checked off the full list of fractions on the sheet first became the winner. The game provided a good opportunity to test their understanding of fractions and to help their partner improve their understanding if needed.
