Welcome to GT ELAR!

Now that you've had time to get through your flooded "back to school" emails, I thought I'd share our first GT ELAR newsletter with you.

My name is Sara Tenan, and I'm thrilled to be returning as the campus GT ELAR teacher after taking last year off to care for an ill family member. I've been at Cockrill since it opened, and I feel fortunate to call it home. I'm also lucky to be able to have the students for all three years as they make their ways through the GT ELAR program, so many of our families feel like family already.

For those of you who I already know, thank you so much for the warm "Welcome Backs" I've received. They really do mean the world to me. For those of you new, welcome to the family.

I know you are really busy trying to keep track of everything during these unprecedented times, so I'll draft a grades 6-8 newsletter so that those of you with more than one kiddo in the program have a one-stop-shop for all of your GT ELAR info. I'll keep this one brief.

These are the novels we'll use to kick off the year! Your student is welcome to use a digital copy, but with all of our time online, I'd love it if students could have a hard (real paper) copy to use. We'll probably start these books on September 8th. If your student is unable for any reason to purchase the book, please contact me. No student will ever go without what he/she needs for class. Ever.

I try my best to return emails within 24 business hours. If you don't hear back from me, please resend your correspondence. It's quite possible it slipped by me.
