MCAS Parent Information - State Testing Collaboration for Your Child's Success
District and state assessments provide valuable insights into your child's academic progress and help us adjust our teaching strategies to better meet their needs. The results not only reflect individual achievements but also contribute to evaluating our school’s overall effectiveness. Together, we can support your child during this important time.
Here are a few ways you can help prepare your child for the upcoming state tests:
-
Create a Supportive Environment: Ensure your child has a quiet, comfortable space for studying at home. Minimize distractions and encourage a positive attitude towards learning.
-
Regular Homework & Study Sessions: Encourage consistent completion of homework and study sessions. Regular practice reinforces what’s learned in class and boosts confidence.
-
Promote Healthy Habits: A balanced diet, sufficient sleep, and regular exercise all contribute to better cognitive function. Help your child maintain a healthy lifestyle during testing.
-
Open Communication: Stay in touch with your child's teacher. If you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you and your child’s success.
-
Celebrate Progress: Celebrate your child’s efforts and achievements, big or small. Positive reinforcement builds confidence and motivation.

Butler Celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Month
Why we celebrate AAPI Month
As a school community, we recognize the significance of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month as an opportunity to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and contributions of our AAPI community members. This month serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience, achievements, and diversity within the AAPI diaspora.
By acknowledging AAPI Heritage Month, we honor the stories of courage, perseverance, and innovation that have shaped our nation's history. It provides us with a platform to amplify AAPI voices, elevate their narratives, and foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of their experiences.
Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month is not just about recognizing the past; it's also about embracing the present and building a more inclusive future. It allows us to cultivate an environment of respect, empathy, and unity where all members of our school community feel valued and empowered to thrive.
As a school with a diverse staff, it is imperative that we stand in solidarity with our AAPI colleagues, students, and families. By coming together to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a learning environment that celebrates diversity, promotes equity, and prepares our students to be global citizens.
Let us use this month as an opportunity to learn from one another, celebrate our differences, and cultivate a culture of inclusivity and understanding within our school community and beyond. Together, we can continue to honor the past, embrace the present, and shape a brighter future for all.

Parent Coffee Hour
Each month, the school administration team hosts a Coffee Hour where we invite families to join us in conversation. While academic success is important, we also believe it's essential to focus on the overall development of the whole child. This is a great opportunity to discuss our efforts and collaborate on how we can better support your child’s needs.
We have translators available for English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic to ensure everyone can participate.
